Comments about RCA Digital Voice Recorder:
#1 - USB build in! = files directly to your PCVoice activation is present, but it has got to be firm voice/sound to reliably get this to start. No biggie though.(Contrary to the previous review: if you need it to record something IMPORTANT - get it ON, not "Voice activated")Records so many hours - you batteries die first. Anything but the best quality setting produce proprietary audio files. I heard others complain editing those. They play fine though). It is NOT for high end music, but got decent recordings of choir singing.Does pick up background noise IF main source of sound not loud enough. But it is a plus if say lector moves around a lot (variable level of speech)Does have ext. mic and headphones sockets.Wish it was smaller, but only when compared side by side with other tiny recorders.Requires some learning to utilize some features but nothing exceptionalOn-board dynamic produces decent sound, perfect if you only dictate.I am happy with this one. And the price is right.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Piece of junk
About Me Gearhead, Tech Savvy
Bought this product to record business meetings. It doesn't work. Sometimes it records for 10 minutes and sometimes it records for 4 hours. I can't monitor this recorder during the meeting. I have lost incredible amounts of information because it shuts off whenever it wants to. I would never trust anything from RCA again.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
