When we finished our home build, we installed a Thermador microwave to match the rest of the kitchen appliances... but the microwave was installed below the counter. This made it a bit annoying every time you want to use it or look inside during use. As soon as I saw this Microwave Drawer, within a week I had ordered it, it was delivered and I had installed it. An installation Note!
Almost perfect! It looks great, works great and looks so much nicer being located in the base cabinet rather than staring at yet another appliance in the kitchen.
The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is there should be a gigantic note about installation!! If you have a countertop edge over a skimpy 3cm, we have a 2" edge and the fabricator doesn't know to put a slight indent to allow for the finger to pull out the keyboard. We just barely get our finger in to do that so we just leave it extended open . Not ideal.

Poor menu placement
I'd actually rate it as 3.5 stars. The setting menu is in a poor spot. You need to bend over to see the guide. We ended up copying it and taping it in a nearby cupboard. This microwave has limited pre-programmed settings (ie: soften butter - there is only a melt butter code)

It works as a microwave should. The button arrangement is hard to get used to. The sequence of steps to accomplish certain functions is not intuitive - you need the manual. It takes getting used to having the drawer pop open as you tend to stand right in front of it. We have the oven in an opening that is hip height. It makes it a great option for short people.

Mostly a good product.
Great design. My only complaint is the plastic covering over the controls is forming a bubble. So only a matter of time until that cracks open. I reported it and was blown off with comment that bubble was not visible to them.

We had a different version of this open drawer microwave and when the food was done it N didn’t continuously beep. I’m ready I’m ready I’m ready. It’s quite annoying like microwave is rushing me.

Keypad died after 1.8 years of less than normal us
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 1.8 months the key pad stopped working under less than normal use, microwave oatmeal in the morning and veggies at night. Occasionally warm up lunch when home. No kids in the house, just my wife and me. Warranty is one year. Cost to fix, $300 if I take it out of the wall and deliver to store, $450+ if they come to the house. Heating is power is weak as well. Presetting's for defrost are not good and design of presetting's needs improvement. Unfortunately, Sharp has a patent on this type of unit and it will be good when it runs out so they have some competition. For now, they can get away with poor quality since is it is the only game in town. Consider carefully the design vs the poor quality.

why is the defrost function not defrosting soup or casseroles?
Hello thank you so much for your question. The reason why you can't defrost the soup or the casseroles it's because you don't change the power level on each defrosted section. Please find below the steps to set the power level in order to defrost foods:
There are eleven preset power levels.
Using lower power levels increases the cooking time, which
is recommended for foods such as cheese, milk and long slow
cooking of meats. Consult a microwave cookbook or recipes
for specific recommendations.
• Suppose you want to defrost for 5 minutes at 30%.
1 Enter defrost time 5.00
2 Touch POWER LEVEL pad 8 times.
3 Touch START/+30 SEC pad.
Once you set the power level you should now defrost your food well, please find below the correct way to DEFROST below:
1 Touch DEFROST pad.
SEE LABEL SELECT FOOD NUMBER
2 See Menu Label. Select desired food by touching the
number pad. (Ex: Touch 2 for steaks/chops. STEAKS
CHOPS ENTER WEIGHT)
3 Enter weight by touching number pads. 1.0 Lb
4 Touch START/+30 SEC pad.
"The oven will stop so that the food can be checked".
5 After the first stage, open the Microwave Drawer.
"Turn steak over and shield any warm portions. Close the
Microwave Drawer. Touch START/+30 SEC pad.
6 After the second stage, open the Microwave Drawer. Shield
any warm portions. Close the Microwave Drawer. Touch
START/+30 SEC pad
7 After defrost cycle ends.
