NOT HAPPY WITH THIS MODEL
from CENTRAL WASHINGTON
Comments about Philips Sonicare Essence Rechargeable Toothbrush:
BOUGHT THIS ONE AFTER OUR E-SERIES FINALLY WORE OUT. THIS MODEL IS LOUD AND TINNY SOUNDING FROM THE WAY THE BRUSH HEAD ATTACHES. ALSO DOESN'T LAY SECURE ON COUNTER WHILE APPLYING TOOTHPASTE. I DON'T LIKE THIS MODEL AT ALL
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I have the Essence model---it is a terrific product. However, I think the prices are way too high for everyone who would benefit from it.
I purchased the Essence model and think it is a terrific toothbrush. I had a different brand of electric brush before, and the Phillips Sonicare is hugely superior. However, I think the prices for the product are horrific, especially when you will likely have to buy a replacement brush annually.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Wish I had one of these my whole life!
from New York, NY, USA
My only regret is that I didn't have a Sonicare when I was growing up. Everyone should be using a Sonicare NOW!
Awesome White Teeth!
This toothbrush has made my teeth so much healthier, and my teeth are so white. Best toothbrush that I have ever used.
Does not have 30 sec interval signals like previous did.
from Livermore, CA, USA
My previous Philips Sonicare toothbrush had a signal at 30 second intervals. Since 30 seconds for each quadrant was what my dentist suggested this was a great convenience. Now I have to count out the quadrant intervals.
Does a good job.
For the past several years I have using 2 Essence toothbrushes....one in the morning and the other in the evening. They perform well and quite convenient for use. The handle is a bit too big (fat) and somewhat slippery when wet bu overall not too bad. I clean these handles every 3-weeks or so. When not on charge I can get at least 4 brushes before needing to recharge though I have never really checked it. The charging unit is quite convenient. Ir is a waste to have to throw away these almost perfectly good brushes after about 2-3 years use so a replaceable rechargeable battery would be a better option than to discard the entire unit. Brush kife not too bad but way too expensive. Because I use two toothbrushes I replace the heads every 6-months.
Battery Charged Toothbrush
from Westland, MI
I do not recommend the toothbrush they sent to me as a replacement for my original battery operated toothbrush. I received it on 9/27 and have had to replaced the batteries 3 times. My original one I only had to replace the batteries once. Poor toothbrush! I don't know what the problem is with this one however it is definitely NOT recommended by me. Buy the one that recharges itself in the holder.
Easy to use
from Cary, NC, USA
Makes my teeth feel like I just had them cleaned at the dentist office.
Very hard to keep clean
from Indiana, PA, USA
The product is nowhere nearly as good as your previous model. It is hard to clean, easily gets "gunky" both in the handle and dripping down into the charger. It is a real disappointment.
Excellent product, well designed.
from Stockbridge, Ga.
This is our second Sonicare. The timing feature is different on the second unit. Taking a little time getting accustomed to the different timing feature. Did not know that this feature was different when pruchased. Not a big deal. It still gets the job done.
