Have Trouble When Movie Paused A While
Comments about Sony 3D 1080p Blu-ray Player with Built-In Wi-Fi:
It's a great Blu-ray player does it's job well. However when I pause a Universal movie for a few minutes and the Universal logo shows up, I can't unpause. I have to stop the movie, play it and search where I left off.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Netflix locks up
from Raleigh, NC 27615, USA
I purchased this BRP less then a year ago and the now the Netflix function locks up upon launch. Player will not respond to any remote or manual button command, even the on/off buttons. Just get a blank screen and only "NET" on the player displace. Un plug/plug in and reboot several time but the issue repeats. I was always a Sony fan but recently their quality has slipped. In the market for a 70" LED, Sony will not be on my shopping list.
worth the wait?
The picture is wonderful and really takes advantage of our new flat screen TV in a way that our satellite dish (non HD) never could. But it is slow. Slow to turn on, slow to navigate the smart menu's and slow to open things like Netflix and Hulu. In fairness to the unit, I am operating it wirelessly so I can't knock it to much. The speed would be better with an Ethernet cable I think. But for the smart features, I like my Roku box better. So if you don't mind a little lag time, the picture and sound are great. I would buy another, and hopefully the newer one will be a tad faster.
The Sony Blu-Ray I had to return
from New Jersey
I purchased the item to use on the "older" Toshiba tv in my bedroom, but when I got it home, there was no way to hook it up. I would need the Red, Yellow & White cords & there was no was to hook them up. I therefore returned it & ordered a Roku Unit, which had the required hook up. I do still have the original Sony Blu-Ray DVD player that I purchased a few years ago for the TV in the living room which had the option I needed; That unit is wonderful.
Great! Great! Great!

Love the Blue-Ray Disc player. Should have purchased it along time ago. Picture is so clear. The sound is awesome. And we are using a regular TVs. Haven't made the step to a flat screen yet, but soon. Doesn't matter it your watching a DVD or Blue-Ray they both come out Great. Very satisfied. Got my Sister to get on also.....

I bought the S590 as replacement for my excellent S570 so my new player had big shoes to fill due to the fact that the S570 was such an excellent player. Well the S590 has lived up to my expectations in so many ways. From beautiful PQ to excellent 3D to features galore this player has filled the big shoes my S570 left behind and did it with excellence. I love the design of the S590 as well as it fits in smoothly with my Home Theater setup. Paired with my 46HX750 LED/3D Tv it makes an unbeatable combo. This player is a must have for anyone who loves a true Home Theater experience and its another winner from Sony as always.
About Me Enthusiast
I use this player in my bedroom and I also have one in my living room. I plan to purchased another player for my guest room. I would recommend this player to friends and family.
