Comments about Sony Handycam with Built-in Projector:
This was recommended by a friend and I absolutely love it! User friendly, can take both photos and videos, it is the best camcorder around, especially if you are filming action and sports events.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I with Recommend to a friend would have a maybe option. I bought this to film my sons baseball games and while it seams to do ok. The focus is slower then snail snot. You do have a leaning curve on the tracking from the lens movement. Maybe that is just my problem still in the learning curve.

Looks good, but doesn't deliver

I bought this product to replace my Sony HDR-CX760, which I've been very happy with. Unfortunately, the HDR-PJ670 doesn't really do what I needed. What I wanted was live streaming over the Internet directly from the camera without the need to attach to a computer. Sony says you can do this with services "such as" UStream, but it turns out that it's *only* UStream. And UStream is now a paid service with the lowest subscription priced at $1188/year. Sorry, but I don't think most consumers are going to pay that much per year for the limited streaming the average person is going to want to do. There are other services, such a YouTube and Mobli, but there is no information at all about working with them and the Sony tech support rep I spoke with said you could try it, but there's no guarantee it would work. In any event, there are certainly no instructions. Also, the projector feature is not well designed. You have to start something playing via the LCD screen, then switch to projector, then watch it, then go back to the LCD screen (which turns off when the projector is active), then choose something else and project it and on and on. It's an awkward design and would be improved if you were able to use the LCD screen and projector at the same time. Another thing I was not wild about was the placement of the tripod mount. It's very far forward. Look at the hinge where the LCD swings out. The tripod mount is on the underside, but just forward of where that hinge is. I feel that's going to put additional stress on the tripod mount and though I've been very gentle with my HDR-CX760, that's the one issue I have with it. Some of the plastic around the mount has broken away. Cheap plastic, I guess. As for cheap plastic, the HDR-PJ670 is very lightweight, probably from heavy use of plastic and it makes me wonder how it will hold up. It feels like a toy. This unit can't take a sun visor like my HDR-CX760 can and that was kind of disappointing. Ultimately, this product is not very well executed. It could be a killer camcorder, but it's really just half-baked.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
