Comments about Vornado iControl Whole Room Heater:
The i control whole room heater is fantastic. I use it every day from fall to early spring. The little remote is very convenient. It makes the air temperature in my family room warm and cozy! I had an issue with a previous one and Vornado replaced it free of charge. Wonderful customer service! If you want cozy comfort, this is your machine!!!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I was sceptic in the beginning, but this is definitely one of the best space heaters in this price segment. I am heating my 700sqf 1br NYC apartment and it works perfectly!

Great for sunroom!
We have used this heater for two years in our Four Seasons (all glass) sunroom. While the sunroom was tied into our regular heating system when it was built 12 years ago, an all glass room, including the roof, is going to get cold when the temps fall to single digits and then below zero. This heater is all we need to keep the room nice enough to still use in the winter while keeping the plants happy, too. It is, without a doubt, the best we have had.

Finally a heater that gets the job done.
I use this heater to heat my basement. It keeps the basement comfortable because of the vortex air flow and automatic variable heat control. I also like the fact that it is so quiet.
This is a repeat purchase of a fine quality product. I run these whisper quiet heaters 24/7/365. When they're not heating up the room, they are quietly circulating the air. The remote control makes this purchase even better.

We purchased 2 of these for our 4 bedroom home. They really do the job of heating up a room that you are in. They will come in handy for when the grand kids are at our house. Safety is a good feature too, as they are never hot to the touch, and will only operate when sitting completely on the floor. We have already taken one of them for demonstration at two of our daughters homes. They may be a little pricey, but worth it.
Great Heater/Air Circulator
I have been using this heater for a while and am very pleased with it. It's modern look is aesthetically pleasing and the function is more than I expected. I have read other reviews of those who seem to not understand Vornado's engineering. This heater is designed to circulate air even when it isn't heating, thus making it better than constant heat ceramic heaters. Next, a remote is not intended to be "on the unit", that defeats the idea of a remote. The controls are easy to run, especially if you take the time to read and or try it. Overall it is a great heater for those who read about it before they plug it in to better understand its functions.

from Pahrump, NV
The big problem with this unit is that the fan is always running when it is on. That means that cool to cold air is circulating when it is not heat. This defeats the purpose of the heater. Also the controls are a pain to use. I plan to return this and get a heater where I can control the fan.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

failed with less than 1 year use.
from Alameda, CA
My rating is based on the fact that the heater lasted less than one year of easy use. It was quite enough and looked like it was a quality product but just did not last nearly as long as it should have for the price we paid for it. Disappointing.

Useful but some frustrations
I like the thermostat, low heat option, very quiet operation. But some frustrations: - no place on unit to stash the remote, so when storing it, one must tape it on or wonder where it went last Spring. The remote fell apart when in storage but we found the battery and back cover on the floor of the closet later. - Others have given up in frustration at figuring out the controls. Remote needs a "low heat" button etc that just turns the darned thing on. The idea do scrolling thru the "modes" is not obvious to most, I'm sorry to say. - on some surfaces (including low-pile kitchen rug) it thinks it is tilted and won't work, though you can operate the controls. After trying all options, you may then try it on a hard floor and discover that it works fine. Too sensitive and needs "tilt!" indicator - one elderly user said " it was just blowing out cold air, so I unplugged it as I couldn't figure out how to turn it off." (I had left it on low heat set at 60 which was her desired sleeping temperature - when the room was warmer) Then she was cold at night. I think it needs to be user-tested with no instructions given and tweaked until anyone can operate it. Few, it seems, have any interest in reading instructions or figuring it out. Not instantly obvious? Then useless. - Can't see the panel without crawling on the floor. Should be tilted up. - when you unplug, it resets to fan only and 75 degrees. Ideally, it would remember. Personally, I love it, but I seem to be alone in this house in that opinion. It keeps a room at a stable temperature without all the heat up by the ceiling like ordinary heaters.
