Gas feed question
BBQ is great.
TheS-460 installation manual is quite unhelpful when describing the gas hookup. The manual describes a hookup only when the gas feed is in an adjacent cabinet. This is not a common situation. It is much more common to have a gas feed behind the grill. Why can't the flexible metal hose go through the back of the grill cabinet, as opposed to only through the side of the grill cabinet? This causes a great deal of confusion. Suggest you rethink the installation manual.

Nice NG Built-in
Built a new 3 season room and chose the Summit to be our BBQ grill for that room. Outstanding choice especially utilizing the natural gas supplied to our home. Looking forward to using features such as the smoker and the rotisserie. For now, however, just basic grilling and the Summit has done the job. Looks good too!

Love Summit Grills
This is the 3rd Summit we have purchased in the last 20 years. The 1st one I replaced about 10 years ago and gave to my brother in law- still going strong for him . The 2nd which is now 10years old we left with my son when we moved from Illinois to Arizona. The 3rd time we did A Built in to put in a kitchen island. Love the lighted knobs.

The perfect all around grill
This is the 2nd Weber grill we bought. the first one was built in and stayed when we sold the house. We bought the exact same one for the new home since we liked it so much. This is a great all around grill, but especially for the rotisserie feature for chicken. Heats up fast, holds heat well, good size to manage multiple cooking surfaces. Just a great Weber grill!

Nice improvements in quality. Looks impressive!
Nice improvements over the prior version...Items such as the additional burner in between the 2nd-3rd burner and the way that the smoker box fills an area set down alongside the grates instead of resting on top of them - very nice and well done touches.
The searing station is impressive to show off. The lighting on the handles that turns on with the touch of a button has been really helpful as it seems that we are alway starting up after dark as the daylight hours start to wane earlier in the fall.
The trim pieces really helped provide a more finished look alongside the porcelain tile that we put into protect the outdoor kitchen area. (note that - we pulled our old Weber Summit out that had been installed by the former home owners, cut out a slightly larger area to accommodate the side vents, added a few inches of floor platform to give room for the rear vents, put in new plywood & concrete backer-board and then thin-setted porcelain tile over that).
We love it!

I’ve had my Weber Silver built in model for 15 years and I will tell you that their support is world class. After 15 years of heavy use, the smoker box is ready for replacement, and I am on my second set of grill tops, there’s some rusting going on , but it still looks and cooks great! I also had an issue with the rotisserie burner not staying lit initially, and although it had well past the warranty period (it sat in my garage for some time before installing) they still sent me a replacement burner free of charge. Weber rocks!

Great Grill with some minor hiccups!
grill is great but the plastic knobs broke after 3 months also hinge hardware is not stainless steel and rusts causing doors to possibly fall off (happend to my last model after 3 years but beachfront)

doors are an issue
the doors on the grill are held on by steel brackets which eventually rust and the doors fall off, but the grill is still in great shape. so now I have a grill that works, but has no doors. who was the person that designed the grill to last but the doors fall off?

Redesigned grill cover in doubt
I actually bought the a replacement cover. My old one was weathered and cracking. That said, my old one was more of a plastic material that pit so much snugger than this one and it had extra hook to keep i attached to the grill. The new one is a softer fabric and already it has blown off the grill once. In some ways it may be nicer but others not. I will have to see how it withstands weather but for now it is just OK

Buyer beware of the Summit Built in.
We purchased our 460 Built in Summit Gas Grill in 2012. The product quality does not match the high price tag. Although customer service is friendly, the warranty is not. For example, as of last night, the infrared burner will no longer heat. Today I contacted customer service to be told that the associated parts are not under warranty. I was quoted a parts price and then would have to pay labor. Since I can not diagnose the problem to know if it is the IR burner Box or wiring, I don't know what to do when repair becomes a large out of pocket expense. Our grill is well maintained, always under cover but has rust and corroded pieces internally. We enjoy grilling year round even in Chicago winters. I really loved my Summit but now it has become a money pit and it is only 8 years old. Very disappointed right now.

I had this grill for 4-5 years and the burners and inside rusted out despite it being under a roofline and with a cover. I contacted customer service twice and never got a response. Unfortunately, since it is a built in, I will probably have to buy another one since it is an odd width
