Huge & Powerful

Comments about Whirlpool 2.0 Cu. Ft. Over-The-Range Microwave - Black Ice:
I just built and moved into a house. I must say, I have never owned a microwave this large or with this many features. The controls are easy to use. I like that it has several fan and light modes. It's huge with a turn table and rack so you can heat up multiple dishes at once.It is very efficient so it heats up dishes in a much shorter time than I am used to.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

GREAT Microwave :)
from Shreveport, LA
I remodeled my kitchen/den this year and replaced my old on-the-counter microwave. I love my new over the stove microwave. It is so easy to use. The 30 second feature gets used a lot as well as the timer and other features. The pre-set cook time settings for frozen food, canned veggies, popcorn, etc. have come in handy. I never used these items on my previous microwave, but I have with my new microwave. The sound indicators are pleasant to hear. It is so easy to understand and is very easy to figure out without reading the manual. It's all about convenience. This microwave was a good buy for me & my family.

My remodeled kitchen w/new microwave.
Easy to use.
I'm replacing a micro wave I have had for approximately 6 years after it quit working. I have a large family and it gets a lot of use age. I hope this one can stand up to the challenge.

Smarter than I am!
from Long Beach,Wa.
Purchased to go over new flat top 5 burner SS range. This micro/hood is smarter than I am, I put stuff in and it asks me how much, and sets the time it'self. Much quieter than our old unit, more powerful cooking and venting. Only 2 minor negatives, the light is a bit far back on the bottom of the unit so you don't get all of the available light on the cooking surface below, also, it's made to be hung from overhead cabinets, which I don't have, so I had to be inventive for the overhead mounting bolts coming thru the ceiling! That being said, we love this unit!! Together with the new range, it makes our kitchen!
Great for 1st Year, Then Breaks Right After Warranty Expires

So, for the first year we owned the microwave, it performed flawlessly. My wife and I had no complaints whatsoever. It has excellent features, is easy to clean, and cooks/re-heats food very well. Then about 14 months after we purchased (about 2 months after the warranty expired, inconveniently), the trouble began. It started as a very intermittent problem where the light inside the microwave would not come on, and once you placed food inside, shut the door again, and entered the reheat time ... the microwave would not start. It would state that the door was not shut. So, I opened/shut the door about five times until the light came on, and it would let me then "start" the reheat. What started as an intermittent problem has become pretty much a broken microwave. It will NOT start until I've opened and shut the door, oh, about 20 times or more, trying to get the internal light to come on. This evening I noticed the display is also starting to flicker and show weird characters on the screen. Yes, it will be completely dead before long.Initially I figured the problem was the switches on the door. So I replaced them. That did nothing. I noticed after the "repair" that during one of the times where the internal light would not come on, that it suddenly did, while the door was open. I realized then that since I wasn't shutting or opening the door at the time, that the issue must be related to the control board. After seeing the display beginning to die tonight, I believe that confirms the problem being the control board or module. To cap this off, we recently purchased a matching, white ice, $2000+ Whirlpool refrigerator with french doors. There are light switches activated by the left and right door. We usually open the right door only or the right door first, then the left. The other day, I opened just the left door and the internal, LED lights did not come on. Bottom line, WHIRLPOOL you need to fire your QA people and provide longer warranties. No more for me.

We're very happy with new appliance. Our older Whirlpool needed to be replaced and the install on this new unit went better than expected. Very easy. It's so quiet. I'd recommend to anyone.

This is the 2nd time I have had to replace the Whirlpool microwave. Fortunately they were under warranty. The first unit the magnatron went and the second there was a serious wiring malfunction. Hopefully this replacement unit, which is almost the same but a different model number, will perform better than the first two.
efficient and easy

Our household replaced an aging unit that was adequate and the new one is amazing. defrost function is super quick compared to our old model and controls were easy to learn.
Excellent microwave. Love it!

The only problem with buying this was the mix-up in the delivery from the store.
