Comments about Whirlpool 24.5 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator - Black Ice:
Had the refrigerator for two weeks. The compressor is quiet. Like the larger freezer compartment. Wish the refrigerator side had an additional shelf for the vacant shelf opening. Miss the multi-adjustable brackets on my old refrigerator. The ice/water dispenser needs to be taller to fill larger glasses.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Don't buy Whirlpool Products

Originally delivered missing a glass shelf. Within a few months the plastic bins have cracked/ broken. For the last few years it has been leaking water inside the bottom of the freezer which leaves a layer of ice & leaks out and onto my kitchen floor. This leakage has damaged my wooden kitchen cabinets.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Love this fridge

This is the perfect fridge for my needs. There's plenty of room on the fridge side and the freezer side. I love that I can get crushed ice or cubes from the water dispenser. I made the right choice.

I bought this 18 months ago, and the fan motor failed, causing me to lose all the food in the fridge section. This is a simple failure to meet stakeholder expectations. I'm appalled that it is standard for parts to break in essentially new hardware, and that these companies only stand behind their work for a year unless you pay extra.

All super except water dispenser

We loved our 1st whirlpool and bought this one a month ago. The water dispenser spout sticks further out so using small glasses means you get wet. Thankfully we are out of the kid cup phase. The button panel for the water and ice are already scratched up much like a screen cover bubble on a phone- very disappointing. I miss the levers they used to have.
Broke down after less than a year

This is my second Whirlpool refrigerator and it has stopped functioning after less than a year. The first one died before it was 3 years old. I am very unhappy with their products and with their service, which takes days if not weeks to occur, leaving us without a functioning refrigerator for too long.
Refrigerator is disappointment

This refrigerator ice maker spring had broken and would cost a lot to replace. The filters are very expensive and at the bottom of the refrigerator so you have to almost lay down on the floor to get them out.
Poor Product and Bad Customer Service

We purchased this whirlpool refrigerator and had this delivered on October 2, 2015. In December I noticed some yellow discoloration on all of the inside plastic sides of the refrigerator. I contacted whirlpool and had an authorized service dealer come out in beginning of January. I followed up with the dealer and Whirlpool since did not hear back. The dealer said they turned in their report and we even had a conversation about the discoloration and I quote what he said " I am not sure why they change the product / materials they use" meaning the plastic and he acknowledged that there was a yellow coloring. Still as of January 30th I had not heard back from whirlpool so I called them, they claimed they had not received the report from the service dealer so I made them call them while I waited on hold. The rep proceeded to tell me that the service dealer was telling her it was color reflecting from the led light. This is not what they said to us when they were at our house, or when I followed up later on the phone. They were now changing their story and lying. Not very reputable. These companies never want to cover anything unless you buy extended expensive warranties and that is all they try to do is sell you these. Really if they made their products good in the first place like they did years ago you would not need to buy these warranties. Regardless I am sick and tired of companies not backing their products and for the excuses that are constantly made. I would like action on this and a solution or a replacement product offered. Whirlpool Does not stand by their product. Do NOT BUY.
