Comments about Whirlpool 24" Built-In Dishwasher - White Ice:
Does a good job as long you don't let the dishes set for a while and food drys on the dishes. being a bachelor takes a week to make a full load.

Looks good, cleans well, very quiet...runs forever
from Leesburg, Fl
Purchased and installed this dishwasher a month ago to replace a Whirlpool that I had for nine years. Both machines clean well and are/were very quiet. The major difference is run times, the shortest cycle on the new machine is an hour and the longest can be up to SEVEN (7) Hours. The normal run time on the first one was less then an hour. The instructions state that the shortest cycle (one hour) uses the most water and energy while the longer cycles use less, doesn't make sense to me and they don't explain the science behind this. The dishwasher we purchased hides the controls in the top of the door, so when the washer is running they are not visible, you only see a green light in the top right of the door which goes out when the cycle has been completed. The problem with this is you never know how much time is left in the cycle. This can be a problem because the cycles are so long. Some machines come with controls visible on the front of the door. When buying a new dishwasher check run times and display differences to ensure that they meet your needs!
A Surprising unit
By Bob the douter

This unit came with the builders package on our new house, and I really thought the noise level during the wash cycle was going to be an issue since it is very near the living room. Also it had a plastic wash tub area, which gave me cause to worry since I have other units with plastic and they were noisy.Well once we moved in I discovered not all plastic wash tub machines are noisy. This is could be a little quieter, but for the most part you do not really hear it running while visiting or watching TV. It does everything we need it to do, and I have now taken 'replace the dishwasher' from my list of things to do.
Cleans good but...
from Utica, NY
I have had this dishwasher for 2 months. It does a great job at cleaning the dishes and is amazingly quiet. However I find having to manually clean the filter more of a pain then I expected. It's not difficult, just a nuisance. The run times seem awfully long for an energy efficient product...3 hours for normal cycle, almost 4 hours for heavy duty. The worst part of the dishwasher is the smell. I have about an inch of standing water below the filter after each cycle and if I don't manually soak it up, it begins to smell after a couple of days. It stinks! I'm still investigating if this is the dishwasher, the installation or my pipes. If I can resolve this issue I will revise my review and give it 4 stars. I won't go as high as 5 stars because of the long run time.
Dishes are clean!
from Gilbert, AZ
4 stars only because the silverware holder does stay clipped to the front of the bottom rack. I fixed this with a tie wrap after third time falling off. Great dishwasher I was told that I needed the stainless tube due to the noise. I am like what noise this unit is quieter than the GE profile all stainless it replaced. Wow to the glasses sparkle.
