DISAPPOINTED IN WHIRLPOOL
from Austin, TX, United States
I owned a Whirlpool electric self-cleaning oven and loved it, so when that oven died, I purchased a new one from Whirlpool. The new one has several problems. 1) After the first 10 days of use, the glass in the oven door began to "fog". A service company contracted by Whirlpool came and took the door completely apart. They could not get the glass to be clean again. I was told that the new oven door glass has a metallic factor in it which is there to reflect heat back into the oven and this is the cause of the "fogging" and nothing can be done about it. WHY would anyone WANT to pay that kind of money for a brand new oven and have the glass get foggy and thus look dirty all the time? 2) I also have had a problem with the oven door not closing all the way while baking. It seems the new oven door is lighter weight and must be pushed firmly to close all the way when baking. 3) One reason I picked this model was the Steam Clean feature. It does not work as well as I thought it would. Needless to say, I am not a happy camper. I also own a Whirlpool electric clothes dryer and Whirlpool dishwasher and I am happy with them. If all oven manufacturers are going to use this metallic factor in the oven door glass, my next oven will have no glass in the door.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I am truly amazed at the capacity of this 27" oven. Interior is so much larger then my old oven. Love every thing about it.

I love my new oven. Everyone that sees it thinks it looks great. It works like a charm. I have not tried the steamclean feature yet, but am looking forward to it.

I bought this unit with a matching microwave about a month ago. Both look great and work well. The oven seems to take a long time to preheat and the timer threw me off to begin with 30 is 30 minutes not 30 seconds. Other than that, very happy with our selection.
The view of the inside is a plus. I like to see whats cooking especially with multiple items.

The oven has been in use for about six months. I put the oven to the test two months ago. The turkey came out perfect let me reiterate perfect! This is the best oven I have ever purchased.
Whirlpool Oven with Steam Clean option

We recently bought this oven and love the looks of it and the large glass door .Also my wife loves the steam clean feature. We like the hidden bottom elements, makes it very easy for wiping up and the cavity of the oven is large. The hold warm feature is nice as we have a busy family so being on time for dinner is sometimes an issue. Love this oven.
Sleek, no worries with kids in the kitchen, does its job, but not quite intuitive

This oven is very good at ovening. Yes, "ovening". It preheats quickly, shows the temperature as it's doing so, it cooks evenly (no more turning the turkey halfway through cooking because the back end is hotter than the front, or half scorched/half still-frozen pizzas), and most importantly for those of us with little kids in the house, the front panel stays room temperature, so it seems to be very well insulated. While the front panel itself does not transfer heat, the unit seem to have a vent system in the back of the unit. The cabinets built around it were designed to vent it downwards, seemingly behind the cabinet drawer built below the wall unit, so it vents it at your feet. I don't know if this is the standard method of cab designs for wall-ovens, but it can make your feet toasty. Not at risk of a burn, but something to keep in mind if you purchase this unit. Personally, I'm looking forward to it this winter since we have tile floors. The only issue I seem to have with it is the ability to use certain options, like setting the timer, using the delay cook time function, and the more "sophisticated" (for lack of a better word) functions. If I'm cooking this roast now, I'd choose no other oven. It'd just be nicer to not have to use the timer on the microwave because I can't seem to press the right button to get the one on this oven to start.
Like many of the features.
