Comments about Whirlpool 26.8 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - Stainless Steel w/Black Sides:
Three year old unit has been repaired three times in 9 months. 2nd and 3rd repairs lasted less than 3 weeks before unit failed to cool, make ice, or keep things frozen. Warranty tech wants to damage out and warranty company keeps ordering installing new parts. At this point I have thrown out the contents of this unit 4 times. Total lemon and I a, caught in the middle!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I've had this refrigerator for 2 years, just as the warranty expired it started leaking water under the freezer door. None of the documents available tell me how the water line is runs so I can determine the source of the water. In addition to the water problem, this fridge is noisy and the water filters are ridiculously expensive $49.99 each and need to replace them 3 times a year!

This refrigerator has been the worst and most expensive refrigerator I have owned, I had better luck with a Kenmore. I have had so many problems with this box, to list a few...The seals in the freezer leaking and needed replaced. The coolant leaking (which according to the repair man is prone to happening with this model), a 700.00 dollar repair. It barely keeps ice for our household of 3 on its "high" setting.The motor occasionally chatters like the exhaust on a car, by occasionally I mean several time for 6 months and than nothing for a while.Ice building up on the back top left corner (had this looked at a couple times)Now I am getting warm pockets in the refrigerator, which has me baffled. I dot. Understand how I have ice cold waters but warm milk...?I had a repair man tell me these refrigerators were, in his eyes, lemons and should all be replaced. They are all very problematic.I have a warranty, thank God, and have had all these fixed but once the warranty is up I will not throw anymore money at this!

I've owned this about 6 Months now and it works like a dream, Fresh water and ice always. Seems to make plenty of ice even when your using more than normal. Very glad I got it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We have had this Fridge for 3 weeks and it is great. The only issue i have with it is that the dairy/cheese drawer has to have both doors open to be able to pull out the drawer. It should have been made into 2 or 3 drawers so you only have to open one door.

DO NOT BUY THIS
I bought this refrigerator 4 yrs ago. It failed in the first 6 months. We had a service engineer come out and he told us that this was first generation dual evaporator design and that whirlpool knew there were design flaws and went and marketed anyway. Whirlpool ordered a spare evaporator and they fixed it at their expense. Then the electronic panel on the bottom drawer failed. We did not report it.Then the freezer failed. Whirlpool came in and fixed it. Last week The fridge failed. It is not cooling to 34F that I have set it at. This time I will probably have to pay. I am thinking of putting it in the trash and calling it a day. My older refrigerator ..a GE model is still running after 16+ yrs
Failing in three years
Poor product. Three times in 9 months I have had so much frost build up behind freezer that drawers will not shut. Doors tightened first time, new control plan next time. That failed in less than one month. Bought extended warranty through hhgregg. "Fast reliable service" means takes 8 days from first call to come, and another 8 days to get replacement part. Won't deal with either Whorlpool or hhgregg again. Lemon obviously. From other reviews, looks like it is my total loss.
