Don't buy! Not really worth a single star, can't remove!!!

Comments about Whirlpool 3.4 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - White on White:
I purchased this machine in 2011 and have truly hated it every since. Sorriest appliance I have ever owned. Would not clean clothes, tore some shirts and lock button would drive you crazy. Took forever to wash a load of clothes. Now is making a horrible noise intermittenly and can't tell where it is coming from.I purchase a new machine today as I do not feel it is worth the cost to have a serviceman come and tell me there is something bad wrong. I will save money on detergent as I was washing a load twice to get the clothes clean. A washer should last longer than 4years and 9 months especially for two senior citizens. Whirlpool should look into the problems with these machines and where they are made. If in China, maybe look at building them back America.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Top Load Whirlpool
from Keizer OR
I bought this a few months ago, it was in used but good condition. It is quiet compared to others. But I am going to be looking for a different machine because it has torn a towel and a skirt, and pilled shirts.

I would give this washer a minus star if possible. You can't open the lid after it starts. It takes 8 minutes to fill and takes an hour for a load to wash from start to finish. If it doesn't start after pushing "start" button, you have to unplug it for 15 min. so it can clear it's brain. I don't have the time. After calling customer service to find out how long each wash cycle was, I was told the machine decides how dirty my clothes are and how long they need to wash. Really??? It know how dirty my clothes are???? I know the world of machines being "smarter" than humans but I've been doing laundry for many years and I know how to wash. I don't need a washer to tell me how. I hate, did you understand, I HATE this washer.

I like the features because they are easy to understand and written so you can see them without the aid of glasses.

Purchased this 5 years ago and hated it since the day I used it!!! I hate the lid lock, and you cannot change anything once it starts. It's tangled and ruined long sleeved shirts, tangled them around the agitator, put holes in shirts, ruined curtains. Now I'm having trouble with it not spinning properly, and I can't even pay someone to come and look at it! I will not spend $100 to have someone come and diagnose the problem because I hate it so much. Please don't waste your money on it, plus ruining clothes!

Lasted Only Three Years
By Fort Worth Happy Csmper
After three years, the balance started acting up. When my husband opened it up to check it out, he found parts wearing out (cheaply made) and rust from the bleach dispenser (which is used perhaps once a month.) It's not worth buying parts to repair and it's far from the quality of mechanical items in mom's Whirlpool. It was built to not last.

After approx 2.7 years this machine is broke-needs a new gear. This is after 2.7 yrs of easy life. We are a two person household and did not place any heavy demands on this machine. The service tech said he has seen this problem on this model mutiple times. Got to go...shopping for a new washer!!

Ours just died on xmas eve...
I gave this washer machine 4 stars since it handled a heavy load for 5 years of use.My wife and her sister who we moved in with their kids used the machine around every other day.It saw heavy usage but now the transmission went out and will run around 456 dollars to fix. Much cheaper to buy a new one.
