Not a stellar performer
from Hilton Head, SC
I bought this to replace one just like it that failed. Within a year had to have heating repaired (it rotated with no heat). Now it has done it again within another year. The dryer does not get a lot of use as it is in a rental. And the first repair quote was $600!!!! I think I got a lemon.....
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The Delivery Men were very polite and set the Dryer where I need it.

Beautiful. Very attractive and does a great job. It dries, of course, but also keeps turning on an spinning a few times to keep the wrinkles from forming. I don't think it i nosier than other dryers but I have this one in my kitchen so I notice the noise. (very small cottage) I love it!
Dry clothes in a flash
from Washington, DC
I have been using the dryer for about a month and could not be happier. I like the new design for the lint collector (easy to remove and clean). The dryer is easy to operate, has several useful cycles and leaves the clothes as one has specified by selecting the cycle.

Quality is poor
from Tucson, Arizona
Rental remodel - with others to be done in the next few years. I thought this would be great for the smaller space available but boy was I wrong. Initially a wait time (backlogged). Then a door issue in the first month preventing the dryer from working. Covered under warranty (but again wait time and down time). After 12-14 months of using this dryer, one of the fuses went out (no drying could be done). The fuse cost $150+ in addition to the service and labor costs. All told, About $275 plus non-use for a few weeks. The manufacturing quality that requires a major repair after a short period of time demonstrates how much Whirlpool products have declined.I have had Speed Queen dryers that have lasted 15-20 years without any need for repair and will not consider Whirlpool products again for the many remodeling projects planned in the near future.

Worst purchase experience ever
By Capital City Consumer
from Washington, D.C.
Buying this dryer and matching washer from a certain mostly mall-based major national retailer was a horrible experience. Paid for the machines in full in November 2013 and had to wait three months for delivery and installation. Terrible runaround from both the retailer and Whirlpool about when I'd get the machines, and several significant misrepresentations along the way. The dryer is made in Italy, yet the retailer promoted it as "Built With American Pride," suggesting it's made in the United States. It was also promoted with a side-venting option that, in fact, is a rear-venting variation that takes up more space than the standard rear-venting configuration. (The retailer waited until about a day before delivery to inform me of that issue, which very nearly made the installation unworkable.) And it was promoted as having an adjustable end-of-cycle signal that can be turned off, yet the signal, in fact, is not adjustable and goes off every three minutes for an hour until you turn the power off or open the door. (Sleep well!) Now, a year and a half after installation, the dryer heating unit has stopped working. If the retailer's extended-warranty repair process goes as smoothly as the sales and installation process, it will be a horrible experience, too. There are other similar (but slightly deeper) compact units that, if they would fit in my condo laundry closet, I would love to have. I'll never purchase a Whirlpool appliance, or any appliance from this retailer, again.

We have been using the dryer for about a month now and are very happy with its performance. It dries clothes relatively quickly with minimal wrinkles.

lotsa maint issues.

I purchased this Dryer and washer for my little condo that we use for 4 months out of the year. the appliances are in a narrow closet and thats why we purchased these narrower units. Any way the controls are in the front and are not very good. I have replaced the on/off push button on the dryer last year now this year the same control button stops working. These units are very heavy to be lifting up on the self were it normally sits. I am sorry I purchased these two units.
