Comments about Whirlpool 3.8 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - White:
I really like my washer. It is so easy to operate. The only thing that would make it better is if I could just put the wash in it and not have to worry about covering up the middle.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Got repaired before it was a year old of use. Noisy like a diesel engine in a laundry room. Will not recommend

Broken part after only 14 mos
from Burlington, Vt
We bought this machine in Oct of 2014. We wanted the energy efficiency features of new machines. It definitely has taken getting used to, particularly how low the water is during the wash cycle, and feeling confident the clothes are getting clean. We've had some problems with darker color articles coming out with spots that appear to be a result of the water not thoroughly saturating the clothes. We've remedied this by using the deep water wash cycle. But the worst part of this purchase was when the plastic pulley cover broke in the machine creating a horrible grinding noise, resulting in a house visit from a repair person at a cost of $133. It seemed unusual that a Whirlpool product would have a broken part within 14 mos of purchase, so we contacted the company. Because it occurred beyond one year of the purchase date they refused to cover the cost. So we effectively just paid 25% more for this machine. I would not recommend it. And honestly, my faith in Whirlpool has dropped considerably.
Do not buy
from Anchorage, Alaska
We have had this model for about a year now and for about a year now I have had to re-balance my towel and sheet loads. The shallow agitator allows the items to drift over to the other side of the tub. When it goes into spin cycle I hear loud banging sounds. I have go back in and pull all of the items out...re-position them and then finish the cycle. It is no fun babysitting a washer.
Washer starts and starts

I bought the washer in February, 2014. I am now dealing with an electronics problem that will cost me half of what I paid for the washer to get it repaired. The washer finishes a cycle, and then often just starts over again and continues until one stops the process. I am not happy with this machine.

I do a lot of laundry and really like this washing machine. There are all kinds of setting for different types of loads. The only downfall is it's loud. I knew this before I bought it but since my laundry room has a door, it wasn't something that concerned me.
Much noise with white streaks on clothes
from Milford Pa
I have never been so sorry to have purchased an appliance as I am with this machine. Besides the unbelievable noise, dark clothes come out streaked with white. I've tried all suggestions from cleaning the machine with Affresh regularly, to using less detergent or more detergent or warmer water, without success.

This was the first washer I've purchased without an agitator. After reading reviews on how loud it was, I was sceptical. It is not that loud compared to other washers. And it's dum is big enough for our comforters.
It's quiet and cost-efficient!
It took me a while to get used to how quiet this machine is. Honestly, at first I thought it wasn't working right! But once I realized it ran a little different as a water-efficient unit, I was just happy it ran so well.
Loud but good for the money
