Comments about Whirlpool 3.8 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - White:
Bought this washer a year and half ago and it has broke twice. This time it's the lock. It keeps locking and unlocking as soon as it's turned on and will not wash clothes and of course it's out of warranty. The matching dryer also broke first year an the whole board had to be replaced.

Two year post purchase
Loved it at first and a year later it broke… not covered via warranty. Year two broke again and guess what… not covered. So to some it up… I will not purchase it again.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

After only having the washer for a little over a week, it has performed as expected and I'm very happy with the results.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

DO NOT PURCHASE!!! WORST EVER
from Kennesaw, GA
IF THERE WAS ANYTHING LOWER THAN 1 STAR, THAT'S WHAT I WOULD GIVE THIS PRODUCT (WTW5800BW). Unfortunately, I purchased this washer in January 2016; upon the first wash, there were dark gray streaks on my clothes. I tried different cycles, detergents and much smaller loads, but the same thing kept happening. So I called the store and they said I had to call Whirlpool (BTW WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE) where the rep asked a list of questions and then tried to teach me how to use the washer machine AS IF I had not used so many different types before. Yet, I followed the instructions again. They sent the same representative out twice, and both times he confirmed that I was using the machine correctly, it was not dirty inside, etc... the second time he just said this "type of machine DOES NOT WASH, IT JUST PUSHES DIRT OUT" unfortunately in my case, it just adds and pushes dirt into my clothes and mess them up. I called Whirlpool a third time, the so-called supervisor asked if I wanted a second opinion but then the rep said if turns out it is a user issue, they would charge for the diagnosis (mind you, I am well within warranty period). Needless to say, Whirlpool refuses to authorize a return so I could get a washer that actually works. THE CLOTHES COME OUT DIRTY, WORST THAN WHEN THEY WENT IN!!! THIS IS ABSURD!!!! I WISH THESE MEGA COMPANIES ACTUALLY HAD REGARDS FOR CUSTOMERS WHO BELIEVED THEIR PRODUCTS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE EFFICIENT, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE I JUST THREW MY MONEY AWAY AS I HAVE TO GET RID OF THIS ONE AND BUY A NEW MACHINE SINCE THIS ONE MESSES UP EVEN MY LITTLE INFANT'S CLOTHES!!! I AM EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED AT WHIRLPOOL'S PRODUCTS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I PLAN TO NEVER MAKE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PURCHASE.
DO NOT BUY

I have had this washer for a year now and every month theres a new reason I resent ever buying it. To begin with, it leaves horrible soap stains on all of my clothes. It has ruined more than one piece of clothing for this reason.About two months in it began to horribly knot my clothes in the washer and leave them a terrible wrinkled mess that the dryer couldn't even touch. Fast forward a few months and now the washer is not even cleaning all of my clothes. Every load I take out, only half of a shirt or a quarter of a pair of pants will even be wet and the other half will be covered in soap. I could not be more dissatisfied with this washer. I have scoured the manual and done absolutely everything it says to do. I use a tablespoon of soap. I have tried liquid soap and powder soap. I clean the washer with affresh.NOTHING has made a difference. Do NOT buy this washing machine.

want my old one back
from Federal Way, WA
I hate this washer... I don't like the low water level, but most of all it is SSSOOOOO NOISY when in wash mode, that even in my garage, I can hear it in my house!
from Maple Valley WA
I received this washer as part of local utility's energy efficiency swap - they took my old washer away and left me this one. It's gorgeous! It's very water and energy efficient and seems to do a good job of cleaning the clothes. It has a large drum with no center agitator so it fits a lot inside. We love it.
looks modern inovative

Not only is it environmental, minimum quantities of water are required and uses little electricity, it is relatively quiet and lets you know when your washing is done.
A Huge Disappointment
from Chesapeake, VA
I've had this washer for a year now and still hate it. I've never heard a washer make such loud noises. I have to keep my laundry room door closed during use. The machine must be hard on clothes as I keep finding broken seam and hem threads on new clothing.
