Came with House.. nice Oven. Temp Issues

      By JPetlev

Comments about Whirlpool 30" Double Electric Wall Oven - Stainless Steel:

Overall I love the features of this oven combo. The rollout tray is great, as is having 2 convection ovens if needed. The interface is easy to use and overall works fine.. there are a few items however that bug me: 1) Not being able to enter a time for the Microwave... seems you always have to use a preset or the 1 minute button. Could not figure out an easy way to microwave for say 30 seconds. 2) Single Timer. The oven combo has a timer, but it is only a single timer.. useful if you have one item in an oven, but often we have two dishes and need separate timers... should at least be one for upper and one for lower oven. 3) The biggest issue is the Temp. I've purchased several 'oven' thermometers to see what is going on and it seems the oven never stays a constant temp. I can preheat the oven to say 350, and as soon as the buzzer beeps, I stop it entirely and tell it to preheat again... my old oven would right away say it's at the 350 temp... this one seems to start at around 312-325.. it's never 350. I then verified with an oven thermometer and while it does get up to the proper temp, it seems to wait until the temp is down about 25 degrees before it attempts to bring back up the heat. When I asked the installer about it, he said it was calibrated correctly and that's "just the way this oven works". My old 12 year old oven kept better temps.

      Disappointing

Comments about Whirlpool 30" Double Electric Wall Oven - Stainless Steel:

We had this oven installed 3 days ago. It worked fine that day, however since then when I try to heat up the oven, within a few minutes I get an error message related to the meat probe (even though I have been making baked goods, and DID NOT indicated I was cooking meat or wanted to use the probe!). A technician came today and said we need a new circuit board and meat probe. It will be another 10 days and another service visit before we can find out if this over works. What horrible, horrible quality control. I am however floored that Kitchen Aid can manufacture and sell (for gobs of money) an oven that doesn't work after 2 days. I would seriously look at the reviews on other objective sites prior to purchasing this...as once we googled this issue we met dozens of pages of people complaining about a similar probe related error message. Very disappointing Kitchen Aid. Sorry to post such a horrible review, but who wouldn't after spending this much money, for a lemon?

So bad tt almost feels like theft

This unit was one of the options we selected with our new home and from it's appearance and price we had high hopes. Starting with the innocuous 1 second left on the clock when cooking cycle ends, we've had 4 or 5 service calls ranging from the exhaust fan not working to the most recent issue where the clock stopped counting down and unit just kept cooking on. The oven has been fine except for taking half an hour to heat up...which is quite unacceptable when one thinks about the electricity being wasted.

Thank you for inquiring about our new Kitchen Aid microwave-oven combo. Both are working well however, we haven’t used many of the features yet. We have much to learn!

      One of theBest!

Comments about Whirlpool 30" Double Electric Wall Oven - Stainless Steel:

We previously had the GE Profile Series but that didn't compare to our new Kitchen Aid oven. We absolutely love the convection feature, quality interior and superior and ease of installation. It is a huge oven with three racks!! Bought product on line along with the warming drawer. Really didn't think I would ever find usefulness for the drawer but husband insisted for future house resale value. So glad we did! It is absolutely amazing keeping hot food hot for hours without drying it out. It has a slow cooker feature where one can put a casserole or roast in before going to work and dinner is ready when you come home! This appliance is a A ++The only thing that could top this product is if it were a refrigerator and oven one or if one could turn it on remotely by phone to start cooking.

Microwave has tons of settings, the oven is too hot and we have ruined a lot of food getting used to adjusting the temp and time lower than recipes call for.

      Looks and cooks great

Comments about Whirlpool 30" Double Electric Wall Oven - Stainless Steel:

I bought the convection microwave and oven combination to replace an aging white GE unit, that, although functional, was stained and yellowed in spots. We have been very pleased with our choice. The micowave/convection upper unit cooks like a conventional microwave as well as doing double duty as a small convection oven. The lower unit cooks both conventionally and as a convection bake oven. For holidays, this combination of versatility and good looks, adds to the style of our kitchen immensely. We highly recommend this wall oven.
