Best Electric Cooktop
By Prof Gena
from Germantown, TN
Comments about Whirlpool 30" Electric Cooktop - Chrome:
If you are tired of your pots sliding around on your cooktop, this is an electric cooktop that keeps your pots and skillets on the burner. This is the only cooktop of this type that has the controls on the side rather than in the center which is a hazard waiting to happen. It is easy to clean and looks great with my other stainless steel appliances.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Very nice cooktop
from Portland, Oregon
I have had this for 2 months now and am impressed by quality and ease of installation. Although a new cooktop meant new counter tops yikes what a project.
Replaced a 1964 cooktop of the same size
Modern version of the same Whirlpool cooktop that was installed in 1964. Bought this model rather than a ceramic one because I sauté vegetables and slide skillets fry pans to toss the cooking food, something that is not recommended on the newer models. Our giant Whirlpool oven is the same age and doing just fine.

Appreciate its simplicity and great appearance. Can't imagine anything going wrong with this, for years. Very nice, care free finish.
The coil elements aren't very sturdy
from Millbrae, Ca
I like it just fine except two of the coil elements that I use the most aren't very sturdy and they are hard to take out and clean because the back comes loose

because I know it will not break as my glass cooktop did.

Love the look
from Cleveland, NC
I really did like the color and the control being on the side. I have been using my cooktop for 2 months. After about a month I noticed spots on it. I haven't been able to clean the spots off. I only pray they don't get any worse. Now I wish I had gone with a stainless cooktop. I hate the spots!!!!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Dials are difficult to read need raised print or dark lettering barely able to read but heats well
