Comments about Whirlpool 30" Free Standing Gas Range - White Ice:
This is s terrible stove. The grates are heavy and they don't line up right in the middle. It makes the center burner useless because the pots wobble. The grates are heavy and have to be lifted first the left and then the right. Both have to come off in that order. You can hear the gas hissing into the oven when it's on. It's loud. The clock is in the lower corner and not centered. The grates look warped. The knobs look cheap. Poor design all around. I had it for two weeks and I've already returned it and went with LG. I'm in love with this LG. stay away from this cheap whirlpool
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Almost dead on arrival
from Sparta, michigan
When we unpacked this unit and took off the protective tape there were 4 small dents in the stainless cap. Needless to say we were very disappointed wit Whirlpools lack of quality control.

Nice Stove. Terrible Clock.
from Easton, CT
This is not a bad gas range. But the CLOCK DISPLAY is very poorly designed. (See my uploaded picture). If you take one step to the right side of the stove, you can no longer see the minutes on the clock display. This serious design flaw completely ruins the appearance of the stove in my opinion. I would NEVER BUY it again. See my uploaded picture.

Exactly what I wanted...
from St. Joseph, MI
I am so happy with this purchase. It has all of the things I would expect from a range...plus.I have not had the need to try the Aqualift cleaning system yet but I absolutely love this range.Easy to keep clean...the grates lift off easily and the top cleans up spotlessly. It has a simplistic clean style. Just love it!

Very happy with the product features. We had a white product that it replaced so my wife is constantly dusting the black top, small price to pay for the style.
I'm finally cooking with gas!
from Shippensburg, PA
We've been wanting a gas range for years.Cooking on an electric range doesn't compare with the efficiency of gas. When you put something on to boil it takes a fraction of the time compared to an electric burner. When you turn a burner down you get an immediate response unlike the glass top electric stoves. This stove top is also much safer than the glass top as pots don't spin and slide. We've only had this Whirlpool range for a couple of weeks but we love it.
Aqualift Self-Cleaning isn't. There must be a better way.
from Rancho Cordova
I had this Range replaced by Whirlpool after 15 months of repeated "fixes" which never fixed the oven. The new one works fine after a tech adjusted the temp. settings. I sincerely hope it is fixed permanently.

Overall, Good! One Major Design Flaw, Though...
from Houston, TX
I've had my new range for about a month. Overall, I really enjoy it! However, there is one major design flaw, particularly if you use any large pans to cook with - like a 12" cast iron skillet. The burners have been placed much much too close together, especially for a 5 burner stove! In order to cook with a 12" pan and another pan, one or both pans end up being off-set over the burners, which is not ideal for even cooking. Cooking is feasible, it's just really not ideal, and with the resurgence of cast iron cookware, I'm just very surprised (and obviously disappointed) that the spacing between burners was not better thought out.Other than my *major* disappointment with the stovetop design, the range functions well and meets my expectations. The high powered burners heat my cast iron pans up quickly and cook food evenly. However, the front burners can actually be too powerful, at times, even on low! However, there are enough medium and small burners on the stovetop that this really isn't an issue (rather, more of an observance). I use the surface burners to reheat food quite a bit, since I rarely use the microwave and some foods heat up better on the stovetop than in the toaster oven. The reheated item is generally heated through in a couple minutes to 5 minutes tops. The oven functions well and cooks evenly. I've tried the convection feature, but have not noticed a big difference. Perhaps I just need to use this feature more to see how it differs from the regular bake function. The unit comes with 3 racks, one is convertible (to accommodate a turkey or large/tall cut of meat), and the oven cavity is nice and spacious!I have not tried the cleaning feature or the warming drawer, and cannot speak to either of these functions. I currently house baking sheets and muffin tins in the warming drawer, simply because I don't have another place for them.Overall, I recommend the range. However, I would really (REALLY) like to see Whirlpool work on the stovetop design to accommodate larger cookware.
Big bold window
from Cincinnati, OH
We have had this stove for about a month now. Love everything about it except for the black surface below the burner grids which looks really great when it's clean but quickly and easily becomes spotted with splatters from your cooking efforts. Thankfully, it is very easy to remove the two large cooking grids to easily access this surface for cleaning. Our only recommendation for this model would be to make the top surface stainless steel rather than black enamel. Otherwise, this full featured gas stove is very impressive!

Not So Versatile
I recently purchased this model. I used the oven once and so far I am pleased with the results. It's really tough to tell how pleased I will be with the oven after only one use. I am very disappointed with the spacing of the burners. The two front burners are power burners. I like that I can put an 8qt pot on one side and a 6qt pot on the other side and heat the items quickly. Quite frankly, these are the size pots that would totally utilize the extra BTU's provided by the range. Here's the problem. With these pots in place the two back burners can only handle a pot the size of 1qt. You can forget about using a small frying pan or anything larger. And forget about using the fifth burner, there is no way anything will fit on top of this while using the two larger pots. I like to cook and having a couple of dishes going at the same time and keeping the vessels centered over the burner is impossible. Now figure this configuration with sauté pans of different sizes. The surface is unusable to a large extent. Its only been 10 days and I am so sorry I purchased this product. I never would have thought I would need to plan my meals around the size of burners. I had an older model GE which worked perfectly, I just wanted a change in appearance. Never should have done it. My advice, if you are thinking of buying this product, bring the pots and pans you use while cooking and lay them on the stove. If you are ok with the layout you will be in good shape. This was not an inexpensive purchase and just thinking about it for this review is giving me feelings of angst.Hey, but it cleans up fairly nice. Or does it. It is cleaned with soap and water. Problem is, it takes a lot of wiping to keep smearing to a minimum. For as much as I cook, I feel the touch screen is also going to be a problem.
