I've purchased this oven 3 years ago. I bake and cook a lot, I'm happy how my food bakes and looks when I bring it out of the oven. As far as the loud fan, I'd rather have piece of mind that it cools down properly, so the fan doesn't bother me in the least. As far as the self cleaning I've had no problems, cleans up easy.

Solid, attractive unit and works well. A bit disappointed with the difficulty of removing and re-attaching door. Also surprised at the noise from the unit when on...wasn't expecting that.
Self-Clean should be called Self-Destruct

I bought this less than 2 1/2 years ago to replace another Whirlpool oven that was only 6 years old, but died when self clean function was used. I was assured by the salesman that they changed the way self clean worked on this newer unit and we should have nothing to worry about. We use this oven sparingly (maybe 2-3 times a week at the most) and overall, I liked the oven and the way it worked. We even used the self clean function every 4-6 months to keep it clean. The steam clean function worked ok, but didn't provide the deep clean that you get from the self clean function. Well, today, my wife decided to run the self clean (this was probably about the 6th or 7th time we've used this feature...). We set it for the shortest time period (3 hours). Well, at some point, the panel went blank. The oven was super hot and we couldn't put our hands on it. I was concerned about leaving the house, so we stayed home until it cooled off (hours later). Even my wood cabinets surrounding the oven were super hot! Not only is this dangerous, this is unacceptable. An oven we barely use, paid over $1000 for, and using a function that should work properly. Not sure what to do as I'm not happy with Whirlpool ovens at the moment. Why offer a feature that will self-destruct the product you bought is beyond me.... The door is now locked closed. I have no idea what it will cost to fix as I don't know how the service person can remove it! And, even when the oven did work, the fan on it is so noisy, it sounded like I was at a rock concert. Poor quality and design.

I love my new oven
We bought the oven while remodeling our kitchen ,I couldn't be happier. My only complaint is the blower for the oven ,It runs a long time after you turn it off now I just leave the door open until it turns off and that happens much faster this way

Fan runs constantly although it is not a convection oven. Also, heat constantly escapes from the bottom of the oven
Roomy. Like the large window.

Very happy with the new oven. Had to get used to the idea that the word, "off" does not appear anywhere.

The Fan is NOISY!
from Oklahoma City, OK
We bought this about a month ago, to replace a 16-year old Whirlpool, largely due to the Whirlpool reputation. It is not a convection oven. The standard cooling fan is very loud - it whistles; almost impossible to hold a normal conversation in the kitchen with the oven on. The dealer says they get a lot of complaints about this, and the factory is aware of it, but refuses to do anything about it. Called warranty service, and the guy came out and said the same thing - the factory knows about it, the air channels are too small, causing the whistle, and there is nothing that can be done to fix it.
I love the look of this oven and it did the job well enough, but the fan is so loud that I had to replace it with one from a different brand. I brought out a technician to see if there was something wrong with the fan but he said that this is normal for this model. The oven I replaced it with is practically silent.

I really like my oven. My husband installed it and it looks great with the rest of my appliances. So far easy to keep clean. I use a stainless steel polish to remove finger prints and make it glow. My last oven was a Whirlpool and was purchased in 1985 when we did a remodel. It was still working good but I wanted a more modern oven.
