Great water saving
Comments about Whirlpool 4.2 Cu. Ft. Front Loading Washer - White:
This washer fits beautifully in the small laundry room we have. Since we have well water, I am glad to have the water savings with the front loader. There are a few features I do not like with this machine-I don't like having to turn the knob and back, sometimes to set the cycle. The water softener cup never empties of water completely, so I can't put enough softener in unless I empty it, which for me, is inconvenient right now. I have washed some heavy cotton bath rugs & the machine has shut down. I had a front loader before that washed these rugs (all of them-

I bought this for a rental unit. The tenants love it, and the fact that it has a large drum means I don't have to worry about them overloading the motor. Couldn't ask for much better.

Great washer. 3 loads a day for 17 years

This is my first purchase of a front loading washer. After using for 8 months, it is just ok in my opinion. The tub is almost too small, and there are only two of us, which is why I decided to go for a small tub. (My previous top loader seemed huge.) I guess the clothes are getting clean enough; it really has not been challenged in that regard. When washing, I hardly ever see any water, just suds--it turns and pauses, turns and pauses. Sometimes the washed items feel like there's still soap in them, especially the towels. When using the gentler cycles, the clothes are still so wet I have to spin them again using the 14 minute spin cycle. I have not experienced any odor problems at all. There is a little moisture on top and under the seal after each wash, and I just wipe it dry if I don't plan on washing again for a couple of days. When washing a bath mat, you must wash it with other things to level out the load or the mat will not spin dry, no matter how many additional times you choose the 14 minute spin cycle at the end of the regular cycle. I thought there was a problem with the spin cycle until I read the manual and it explained why it would not spin the mat dry. I added several large (dry) towels to the sopping wet mat, and after the 14 minute spin cycle, the mat was dry enough to put in the dryer.
I picked a washer with just the right amount of buttons.
We've only used it twice; but, we love it.
