Don't Waste Your Money

Comments about Whirlpool 4.5 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - White:
This washing machine does not get a single item I put in it even remotely clean. I swear I put some things in there that come out dirtier - and I'm not exaggerating. All of my dark clothes have big white nasty looking blotches all over them. I end up running everything through at least two times at which point, I might have well bought the old skool fill-it-with-water washing machine because that does a heckofa lot better than this piece o' junk.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The top loader is easy to use and has many options from which to select.
Super large load capacity

I replaced a Whirlpool washer with this one. The older model works fine, but got a really good deal on this one. It has a large tub and would be great for a large family. It works well and is quiet. The downside is the wash cycles are longer than my previous washer. Quick wash w/rinse is over 40 minutes compared to 28 minutes with my last washer. I've only had it about a month so I don't know how reliable it may be, so just rated it 4 stars instead of 5.

Bought 8 weeks ago. Work wonderfully, though learning about new washers. Learned the cat screaming noise was all about. Though close a door it is fine. Great options, huge capacity.

I love my new washer. Its so quite!!

After using our Whirlpool Cabrio washer for a year, we are still happy with it. The technology takes a bit getting used to, and some stains definitely need to be pre-treated, but it is quiet and reliable.

I bought this about a month ago. Very different from the old washer that fills the tub with water so I could see the water to soap sloshing around the aggitator. Initially I was concerned about the small amount of water while the clothes were swirled around the tub and the jet engine taking off noise, but my clothes appear to be clean and undamanged by the motion before water is in the tub. I don't like that the lid locks so I cannot see the action inside the tub, but I guess they are all like that.Large tub handled king size bed blanket well. Seems to use less water. Distribution of soap, bleach & softner work well. BUT you can't rinse out the soap, bleach and softner cups since no water enters the machine while the lid is open.Appears to be a good product for a reasonable price. Taller than old machine so not recommended for short people as I can barely reach the bottom of the machine to locate & retrieve the ever missing sock.
The smell comes with time

This was our first HE Top Load Washer. We liked the idea, but after we washed a particularly smelly load of laundry, we can't get the smell out of the washer. We have run various wahsing machine cleaners through it and it still smells. We haven't found a good way to clean it yet.
