Comments about Whirlpool 4.6 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - White:

Purchased it a little over a year and it got louder after the one year warranty was up. To fix it I was told $400.00 or live with it until it breaks. takes a long time for clothes to wash. Once finished the cloths are twisted and occasionally torn. Unbalanced when I wash comforters.

I have had this machine since December, and have had no problems with it with it what so ever. I just bought the matching dryer, and feel the same way about it also.

Comments about Whirlpool 4.6 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - White:

This is the worst washer. It has ruined so many of my clothes. It states it's a cold water setting but defaults to warm water and now my clothes bleed together. This was an expensive washer/dryer. Can't wash a comforter without it becoming unbalanced and doesn't spin out. Sales mgr gave me a hard time about returning it. So, I kept it. It will be going out with the next tag sale. Do not buy this. Awful.

Comments about Whirlpool 4.6 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - White:

Bought this setup with the washer and dryer. Leveled everything correctly and followed every direction. First load sits on error code UL=unbalanced load. Took 4 hours to wash first load because of the error. Keep having to stop the washer move the cloths around and finally end up with just three jeans and two shirt washing.

Even with that the unbalanced load error keeps coming up. Once the first load that took 4 hours and human contact every five minutes was done I relevel to make sure everything was leveled correctly again which it was leveled.

Started second load after five minutes the Unbalanced Load came on again. Took five hours to wash since I had to sit in the basement and move the cloths around every five or so minute to get rid of the UL error.

I was ready to throw the piece of junk out. I have read some reviews from other sites and people were complaing that they were having the same issue with the UL error. I thought maybe they just didn't follow the instructions and level it correctly. Since I had already paid for it now and then finally seeing the reviews I just thought I give it a chance. But my worst nightmare came true just like all the other reviewers were talking about.

Took it back to PC Richard and exchanged it for the Maytax Maxima and they worked like a dream. So if you want a very good washer and dryer get the Maxima MHW6000XW. Do not get the 7000 series one though since they don't work as well as the 6000 series.

I have to admit returning the piece of junk washer and dryer back and had a talk with the manager at the store in Enfield, CT. He was very accomidating and understanding and did not give me a hard time returning it. I was ready to stop shopping at PC Richard but maybe will still buy things there since the manager there is an understanding manager and is willing to work with his customers.
