Comments about Whirlpool 4.8 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - Chrome Shadow:
For those of you who like this machine, wait a couple of years. The bearing will go out and it sounds like a military jet is taking off from our laundry room. We have started to plan laundry loads for times we out of the house. We have 2 teenagers in the house who aren't as organized as we would like. They will wear dirty clothes to school instead of being kept awake by this thing. I called Whirlpool and they couldn't find the Model # in their records. If I can save just one person from buying this piece of junk,( I tried using a different word but Whirlpool won't let me) , I will have done something good.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

WORST washer ever!!!!
By dissatisfied customer
from Omaha NE
I purchased the washer and dryer , the worst washer ever, the clothes seriously look dirtier after coming out of the washer than before they went in. Dark clothes no matter how much liquid soap you put in , look like they have dried soap all over them. I end up hand washing most of my clothes! Wish i would have taken this washer back!

It LOOKS snazzy BUT...
from Henderson, Nevada
Purchased the set in July of 2014. It has performed just fine except it doesn't handle cotton rugs so well. It will start walking and the stop with the UL (uneven load signal). If you happen to hear it, fine but if you don't, well, you almost have to start from scratch on that load....Plus the washer is so big that now I'm wishing I'd gotten a front loader instead. It's getting harder to reach all the way to the bottom to retrieve clothes.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought the Cabrio WTW7000Dw Oct. 17, 2015. It is with out a doubt the worst washer I have ever owned. The clothes, etc. get tangled and wrinkled even tho I use all of the suggestions and directions in the book. If I could afford it, I would get rid of this today!~

Should have stuck with LG
from Curtis, Michigan
We moved 3 months ago and purchased all new appliances and I just had to have the pretty gray Whirlpool set----big mistake. There is only 2 of us, so I know it is not getting over loaded. I have white detergent stains on my dark clothes and half of the time all it does is go in a circle, when it does agitate it is such a weak agitation that the top clothes never get pulled under. As far as washing your bedding, forget it. Load just keeps going off balance. I sure wish I would have bought LG again and if I could afford to just go get one, I would and just take the Cabrio to the recycle plant. And it is not as if this was a cheap washer. Very disappointed.

Worst washer I've ever owned
from Cumming GA
I bought this washer thinking that I would like the top loader version of HE instead of front loader versions because of long wash times. Still has the long wash times and my clothes are never clean. Any mildew on towels and it will not come out. I've changed detergents; used less or more; all to no avail. Finally put them in sink and soaked for over an hour and then rinsed and dried -- now they do not smell. If I wanted to wash by hand I would have bought a wash board. Also have issues with residue on dark items--does not change if I only use minimal soap. Needless to say I HATE THIS WASHER and would never recommend it. Bulky items also cause it to get off balance since they end up on top of the "agitator". Trying to get my money back.
DOES NOT CLEAN
from Findlay Ohio and Fort Myers fl.
We live in Findlay Ohio home of Whirlpool washer plant. We have never bought any appliance except for Whirlpoolfor our Findlay and Florida homes. In fact we live in the house of the first plant manager. However, this washer is a big mistake. I read the reviews and don't know what washer they are using.Just two of us so light loads. Some items don't even get wet, not to mention clean. Spinning does not clean. Use soak cycle still not clean. Will replace in January. May not be a Whirlpool product for the first time in 40 years.

Whirlpool Cabriolet Platinum 4.8 cu ft
from Springdale, AR
This had by far surpassed any expectations that I had for this washing machine. The settings are perfect for my every day needs. I love that it has a towel setting and a sheet setting where it will use extra hot water to clean these items thoroughly. Over all I would highly recommend this product to any of my friends or family members looking to upgrade.

Purchased machine in July 2014. Issues we are having:•whites don't come clean.•towels don't come clean, smell "moldy" or doesn't get all the "bodywash" soap out the wash cloths.•sheer curtains didn't come clean either.•darks when removed from the washer have spots on them, a rewash is needed.I read the manual before 1 load was even done. We use HE soap & softener, and loads are not large or unbalanced. Also Affresh tabs are used monthly.I wrote to whirlpool about my issues and included the above paragraph, stating also its just me and my wife. So loads are never large. Their response was to check what I had already listed. Using HE soap, no oversized loads, & the Affresh tabs. Email also read to schedule service if this doesn't solve the issue. LOL, sorry I'm not spending anymore $$$ on this machine, I shouldn't have to for what we paid for it. I'm done with whirlpool....obviously they don't care

Less than 10 months after purchasing this washer, it began giving a Sd error on the rinse and spin cycle. In the last 4 months Whirlpool has sent 3 different repair companies to my house to repair it (1st company never showed nor called), and after taking 10 days off work and 2 companies telling Whirlpool it is not repairable I am FINALLY getting a replacement! But no thanks, I'd rather have my money back and NEVER choose Whirlpool again. Whirlpool has been horrible to me during this period by not returning phone calls and not providing any compensation for my time off work or the inability to use that cycle. They treated me like it was no big deal to take that many days off work as well as they lied to me twice saying none of the repair technicians wrote in their notes that the machine was not repairable! Complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau, but again Whirlpool acted innocent and denied the claim. I will NEVER do business again with Whirlpool...EVER!!!
