5.3 cu. ft. Cabrio® High-Efficiency Top Load Washer with Pre
from Ashburn, VA
I purchased this washer/dryer set with same great expectations of the other products I had in the past from Whirlpool. While the washer does wash great, the glass lid assembly has been a continuous problem. The plastic frame around the glass cracks in the same place over and over. Allowing the glass to pop up and after a awhile is so out of whack that the lid wont lock therefore disabling the washer. I have replaced this lid twice and they cost around $200.00. I will not replace it again and will not buy another whirlpool washer. It is also very noisy and sounds like a jet plane when washing.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Intermittent Loud Sound, like a Klaxon, Audible from Street
By Melinda M.
from Woodstock, GA
I purchased this washer 2 weeks ago to replace the exploding Samsung washer. It washed 3 loads perfectly, but on the 4th during the wash cycle as the water filled the drum, a frighteningly loud sound that exactly imitates a Klaxon alarm began. Pausing and restarting the machine caused the sound to pause and restart, and only turning off the power and allowing all the water inside to drain, then re-starting made the sound start. It seems to occur only when water is filling the machine and happens on all cycle settings. We are having the machine replaced - fingers crossed that the next one does not have this issue.

Lots of room!
from Friendsville, TN
We have had this washer for less than a month, so I can not attest to its longevity; however, so far, I have really enjoyed this washer! It has many features and compared to my old washer, is HUGE! I was nervous at first about it not getting my clothes clean, but it has gotten the job done with every load... And I do a LOT of laundry! I have read other reviews about it being loud. That has not been an issue for us. It's a washer, it's going to make noise. I wouldn't say it's loud, though! My old washer was much louder! The only problem I have had was that I opened the lid immediately after I pushed start. I then got an error message and had to restart the load. I wish now that I had gotten the dryer, too, but I'll just wait until mine goes out.

What a great washer!
By Cathy the Counselor
My daughter had a washer like this one which influenced me to buy one. I don't regret it. My old "agitator" washer would rock back and forth, jar the sick, and knock the soap off the sink with every load. The new Cabrio is gently rotates and does not "rock". The Cabrio has a very large capacity for washing rugs or bed linens. I have not filled it to capacity yet! It adjusts the water level so that only what you need is used. It has many settings, such as "light wash" or "heavily soiled" which adjusts the wash cycle automatically. There are no settings that I have wanted that I don't have. At the end of the cycle, there is a gentle ring tone. The only thing I've noticed is that twice the darks have not rinsed completely, but I can add an additional rinse cycle. This is most likely from the high efficiency water usage.
Huge tub with all the bells and whistles
By Renew in BG

We bought this set about a month ago and I love it! I liked the efficiency of the front loaders but didn't like the bulkiness. I am amazed at how big the tub is without the bulkiness! I also like the fact that it is a top loader without the huge agitator. A+
Large efficient and quiet
from Salt Lake city
This has been by far the best washer we have ever had. It has a very roomy basin with lots of wash options. It runs very quiet and cleans perfectly.
