Very Happy With Duet Dryer
from Sioux City, IA
Comments about Whirlpool 7.4 Cu. Ft. Gas Dryer - White:
I bought this about 6 weeks ago and have never been happier with an appliance purchase (except the Duet front-load washer). The dryer dries great, is quiet, and makes happy music at cycle end. I am as thrilled to do laundry today as I was 6 weeks ago.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Love this new dryer. Drys quickly and gently. Not sure if it has a sensor that can tell how wet the clothes are as they're drying and can speed up drying times or not.

I bought a stackable so that I could build a pantry in my laundry area. I have replaced all my appliances with whirlpool and picked this based on price, reviews and features. It is awesome!!! Super quiet, washes well, has all kinds of great settings. No regrets here.

Design improvement suggestions below.

1. The touch buttons on the face of the machine are a nice feature - but - they should be recessed. If you reach out to hold the top of the machine with one hand - while opening the door with the other or,If you set a load of clothes onto the drier or,If you move a load of clothes from the top of the drier to place into the drier or,If you reach over the drier to reach a shelf above the drier - All of these actions result in contact by a hand, an arm, a hip, or waist in making contact with the on/off button and activating the electronics of the drier unexpectedly and unnecessarily.2. The lint screen front and back are so similarly designed that in low light conditions or not paying special attention - the lint screen can be inserted into the drier backwards. It is a real challenge to then remove it without damaging the screen.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
