We are very happy with this new dryer. Have already used the steam feature twice and love it. We have always used Whirlpool and everytime we buy new, they are better then the previous one.

Good purchase, difficult installation
from Haughton, LA
We have had this dryer for maybe 2 months. When we received it, the installation was VERY difficult. First of all, the delivery guy told us that the electrical plug from our old dryer would not work on this dryer. We thought that was strange... but we went and bought a new one anyways. He was wrong, and we were out a little bit of money, when we could have just removed the plug from the old machine. THEN, when we attempted to install the electrical plug to the back of the machine, it was the strangest set up we had ever seen. Instead of prongs sticking out to hook the wires on, the wires slid up into the machine to be secured with a square shaped nut. Maybe we're a little old school, but that whole process seemed strange. The nut was supposed to stay secured within the machine, but unfortunately something was broken or broke during the process and it came out, making the wires impossible to tighten. (And you can't leave electrical wires loose!) Upon continued attempts to get the square nut back in it's place, we came to realize that the screw and nut that came together did not even thread together properly. So after much searching and assistance from a contractor, we found the appropriate nuts for replacement (no point in ordering new ones from Whirlpool because they were ridiculously expensive, who would guarantee what we wouldn't run into the same problem, and I wanted to dry some clothes!). The rest of the installation was easy -- exhaust and water line for steaming. And now I love the dryer! I love the steaming option, but it is a bit noisy and rattles. So I just shut the door to the laundry room.
Too Large For Our House
from Washington DC
My parents were focused on getting a big dryer, not realising that the machine didn't fit through the inner basement door. We had to deconstruct the back of the dryer and then remove a portion of door. But we got it into our basement. The machine works perfectly and we have no complaints thus far.

Good but noisy!
from Huntsville, AL
I bought this about 2 months ago and had it delivered. The guys set it up but I had to hook it up myself. The manual was very good and hookup was easy. My major complaint is that this darn thing is noisy because of vibration coming from something loose in the dryer. I have adjusted the feet but that doesn't seem to stop the noise. I can move it slightly one way or the other and push down on the top to sometimes get the noise to stop.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
