Worst washer ever!
Comments about Whirlpool 4.6 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - White:
Does not clean clothes. Shows error codes constantly. When the error codes come up, it just keeps filling up with water. Doesn't spin the clothes out, they are soaking wet after a cycle. This is a very expensive machine, and just awful. Buyers, do not buy this product. If you google it, there are thousands of complaints on this machine, and Whilrpool has done nothing about it. FYI, I see there are great reviews, and I agree, it was great for about 6 months. I loved it then, after a few months, it goes downhill, the sensors are all off, and it sounds like a jet plane in your house, and the clothes aren't clean.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I would not recommend this machine to anyone. Our clothes were hardly cleaned, the washer had an odor despite using affresh, it put little holes into our clothes. It lasted 4-5 years, ? bearings went bad and we couldn't find anyone to repair it. The repairman we called (2 different ones) said those take up too much time to repair for a problem that it may not even be and it wasn't worth their time! Horrible machine for all the money.

From lid lock code, to rusted out springs in the lid, to the dreaded F51 code, this washing machine is junk and Whirlpool, a company built on quality products, is now synonymous with cheap, overpriced and inferior products. I would advise everyone too spread the word. The issues with this washer are well documented. In fact, Whirlpool has even changed the manufacturer of the faulty part (control board) that causes the F51 code. Doesn't changing the manufacturer somehow admit to guilt? And yet, there's still no recall. Class action law suit anyone? Today is Day No. 1 in my campaign to call Whirlpool out.
Does not last

We purchased this washer just over 2 years ago and it's all rusted inside and rust is getting all over the clothes. Whirlpool won't have anything to do with helping to fix it.

Quite running machine

You can hardly hear the machine run, it cleans real well, I was surprised at the cleaning. I like the fact that you can pause the machine to add forgotten clothing without restarting the timer.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Worst Machine I've Ever Owned!
By Fed Up!

I've had this machine for a few years and it does not clean well. All loads must be set on heavy duty soil & extra rinse which is about 71 minutes!! So much for energy saving. And forget about using fabric softner, it doesn't get rinsed in enough water so all dark clothes were streaked with softner. Had to go to fabric sheets which was OK but not really how I like to do my laundry. I really did try and make this work but I'm giving up! Speed Queen....here I come....20 gallons of water per load, who cares...At least my clothes will be clean!!

I bought the Cabrio Platinum 4 years ago (with an extended warranty). The warranty expired last year & now we have the F-51 error. The machine does not spin after washing. Previously, I owned a Whirlpool top-load which I purchased brand new in 1996. The machine -never- needed to be serviced until it finally died---after 16 YEARS! Then, I replaced it with the Cabrio. I am so disappointed in the lack of quality. Now, we are filling landfills with these new high-tech appliances that don't last. My service guy told me to buy a Speed Queen (the old school kind that doesn't have any bells & whistles, no computers, just like the one I purchased in 1996. The thing will last ages. He doesn't get calls on those). I think it's good advice....
