Comments about Whirlpool Duet 4.1 Cu. Ft. Front Loading Washer - White:
We always leave the door open between washes and regularly run a load with bleach. I clean everywhere I can reach, but there is still a strong mildew smell that is making our clothes reek. Other models have had a bottom panel you can remove to clean the house inside. This one does not, so I cannot figure out what to do to get to the mold. It would be a huge pain if we have to UL out the washer and unhook the hoses in the back to get to the mold. I see videos about having to I stall fans to keep mold from forming. Our old Frigidaire was a front loader and we never had this problem. Really frustrating.

I hate this washer
My first one died, and I was convinced by the repair guy that someone in my house had mis-used it, so I got another. The first death was accompanied by multiple mysterious "Lc" codes that it is not possible to find on Google. You cannot find out what the Lc means without getting a service guy out. I got a second machine as I was in an emergency situation and was promised that the first one had a fluke (and that someone visiting us MUST have misused it), and we have been incredibly careful with it - but, the Lc code rules again. Why does this machine break all the time? It is overly electronic, too complicated. Constantly going on the fritz. On the other hand, there are no good washers anymore now that all the stringent government regulations got piled on. Nothing works. Is there such a thing as a reliable washer anywhere on the planet? I really am frustrated with the poor quality of this washer, and how often it goes on the fritz.

I am a former Sears appliance repairman and through my tender there I have seen many different types of appliances. By FAR, the best name is Whirlpool!!! They are durable, they last longer, clean better and the customer service is top knotch!!

Not bad, not good either
This washer was in the house when we moved in. My wife and I had always wanted a front loading washer. Within 2 weeks I got an error code. A little online research pointed to a clogged pump. Luckily this was easily accessible and a quick/messy fix.About a week later I started noticing little shards of plastic in the wash. I assumed my son had left something in his pocket. But it got worse during the next 2 or 3 uses. The little chunks of plastic became large strips. I ran a load with no clothes to see if I could figure out what was happening. That's when I started getting water on the floor. After I stopped the washer I pushed the gasket back and saw that the plastic outer drum was being shredded by the steel inner drum. I did some searching again and found that this is a common problem and expensive to repair. Some people had luck getting whirlpool to replace it under the 10 year drum warranty. Others were told the plastic part isn't part of the drum, even though it really is. I called HSA who is our home warranty company and they sent a guy out to check it. He said they'd more than likely replace the washer due to its age and the labor cost of replacing the drum assembly.

Quieter than expected

Bought it this year and it is quieter than expected. Bleach dispenser does not drain when I expect it; however, I do not use bleach anyway. It cleans as I expected. I hope it lasts longer than the last washer I had (different manufacturer).

I bought this for my daughter when her washing machine gave out as she has two daughters and laundry seems never ending with children. She loves it and the water consumption it saves!! I also own a Whirlpool Duet washing machine and I love mine also.

We've has this for 3 months. Does a great job of washing clothes and does it in 1/2 the time of our old LG front loader. Very happy with this.
The best washing machine you will ever use.

I purchased this washing machine when I bought a new house. It's so quiet and washes anything I need to wash.

This is a great washer. We love that we can put more clothes in, we use less water and less detergent and bleach. It runs really quiet and gets out clothes really clean. We also like that so much of the water is spun out of the clothes so it takes less drying time.

We do at least two loads a day and more when the whole family is here. I love all the options and the delicate cycle! It saves me a lot of work. It was easy to use, something I was nervous about not being very technical, I love the sounds it makes and am very happy with how clean every thing gets.
