Comments about Whirlpool Duet Front Loading 4.3 Cubic Foot Washer:
I love how easy this machine is on my clothes, but how thoroughly it cleans them at the same time. The spin stage does such a great job, making the drying time so quick. The clothes come out feeling soft, despite the fact that I don't use fabric softener. I don't understand, but it makes me happy!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This washer does a great job at cleaning laundry. Our water bill keeps dropping each month, which is a testament to the washer's water conservation. I also like the ability to pour liquid detergent in the reservoir, which the machine measures out in the proper amount. This eliminates the need to individually measure the amount of soap needed for each load. The washer also permits you to program the detergent concentration and water hardness.

I purchased this model in late 2013 and already had to have the $400 gasket replaced due to leaking. I had to pay $200 for the authorized service person to come to my home and for the installation labor. The service person told me to definitely purchase the extended warranty, as the gasket is the least expensive repair on the washer. Worst of all, it puts pin-head sized holes in all of my cotton clothing, even when I wash on the delicate cycle. Do NOT buy this machine. It is an expensive mistake!!!

Puts holes in my clothes
I purchased my Whirlpool Duet in late 2013 and already the gasket had to be replaced because it was leaking. Fortunately, since I was only a few months out of the warranty period, Whirlpool covered the $400 cost of the gasket, but I was responsible for $200 for the authorized service and the labor to install. The repairman said I should definitely inquire about an extended warranty, since the gasket is the cheapest thing on the washer to replace. I had a 60 day waiting period to purchase the extended warranty, but glad that I was able to get it. Overall, I would NOT recommend this machine. I have started getting pin head sized-holes in all my cotton shirts, even ones that I only wash on the delicate cycle. This machine is horrible. Do not buy it!!!
So far so good. If it last 5 plus years I will be happy. Had it for 1 month.

love my new whirlpool front load washer
It is so quiet and has cut my dryer time in half with how well it spins the water out of the clothes

I'm pretty happy with my new washing machine. Two problem I have is cycles are very long (59 minutes for a regular cycle). There's also no small load feature so if I'm washing 2 sweaters the cycle is still 59 minutes.
