I love this refrigerator. Love having the freezer on the bottom and freezer is spacious holding much more than having top freezer.

Not excited about the layout. Not enough tall spaces
Love the size and features

I had to wait because it had to be ordered and I'm so glad I did.
This appliance is part of a total kitchen make-over, complete with granite, all new stainless appliances and new ceramic floor. I got the granite first, then the stainless and then the floor. I would suggest doing the floor first because I currently have problems leveling the fridge and had problems with the new fridge making ice. I didn't have problems with my previous fridge, neither with leveling it nor in making ice. The owner's manual states that individuals with a reverse osmosis water filtration system, as I do, may have difficulty making ice due to insufficient water pressure. It suggests pressure greater than 40 psi. Mine is set at 46 psi. While there were a couple of days' delay in making ice, a minor inconvenience, I did wonder if the fridge was defective. Despite these inconveniences, I would buy this unit again because it is very quiet, works as expected, is sufficiently compact to fit in the space between my cabinets, the controls are intuitive and the bottom freezer is much larger than the space I had with my previous side-by-side fridge. Though cold water comes through the fridge door, the ice does not. Instead, ice is deposited in an elongated tray in the freezer. The ice maker is so quiet, I never hear ice being made, and there has never been a shortage of ice. I wish Whirlpool made the ice come through the door as it does with larger units, my only true annoyance with this fridge.

My husband and I purchased this refrigerator a month ago for a small space in our ktichen. This refrigerator provides a lot of space inside with the french doors, drawers and all the shelving. I would definately recommend this product.

I really wanted the newest model with two doors on top, a drawer in the middle, and a freezer drawer at the bottom. We have a water line so I picked out one with the ice or water on the door. I only looked at Whirlpool because of its reputation. When we got home after ordering it, we realized that it would be too tall! We had to go back and measure all of the fridges to make sure we could get one that fit under our cupboards. We did not have time to mess around with the cupboards since our other fridge broke. We ended up with one that has the two doors on top and the drawer at the bottom. It only has water in the door front. The ice maker is inside. It is a very small fridge and I have to be strategic in how I put things in. The freezer has a divider in both the top try and the bottom section. Can't stock up because stuff doesn't fit well. My fridge makes me sad and I don't cook often since I got it. I won't host parties because all the stuff I would need won't fit in there. Forget frozen pizza, DQ Cakes, or Whole turkeys. Actually the turkey might fit if nothing else was in the bottom....maybe. Sigh. Just not what I wanted for $1800!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Nice for a one person home
from Cottonwood, AZ
It's good for a one person home only, anything larger and it's just too small. However, the water filter holder cover design is terrible. After 6 months I had to have it repaired and that still didn't fix the problem of the cover not staying shut. It has to be repaired again. I won't ever buy a refrigerator with that style of water filter holder again.

Very good refrigerator, with very minor design flaws
By Queen Maeve
I bought this refrigerator because it was the only one on the market that fit the space I had and which had a bottom freezer designed so that the upper tray pulled out automatically when I opened the freezer compartment. I am disabled, and cannot bend over to pull out a drawer, so this was a very important feature. I like this refrigerator very much, but it would be a much better unit if Whirlpool made just 2 design changes. First, there is more than an inch of wasted space between the shelves in the refrigerator and the doors. If the shelves were slightly deeper, you would gain a little more more storage space. More storage space is always a good thing, even if it is just a few inches here and there. Second, the fold-away shelf is very nice, but it would work better if the fold-away portion was on the other side of the shelf, since most people open the right-hand door first, but if you want to use the fold-away shelf to store tall items such as a bottle of wine, you can only access the tall items by opening the left door, which effectively opens both doors. Alternatively, Whirlpool could make the fold-away shelf in 2 sections - one that folds away on the left, and a narrower one that folds-away on the right, and the consumer could use either or both to accommodate their lifestyle. If these changes were made, I would give this model 5 stars and rate it as one of the best smaller refrigerators on the market. I do not use the water dispenser, so I can't comment on that. The ice maker works quite well, but is not really designed for disabled people. To make the ice maker work more conveniently for disabled people the on/off lever would have to be closer to the front of the unit.
A couple of issues...but fixed
from Eaton, CO
My new Whirlpool frig developed a very annoying left door squeak & the ice maker wasn't producing much ice if any. I called Manweiler Appliance (where I bought it) & they sent a repairman right out. He fixed the squeaky door & told me how to get the ice maker to work until her could get the new part. I had to be sure the top drawer in the freezer compartment was pushed clear back then I had to be sure the ice maker arm (on off) was in the on position when I closed the freezer drawer. Kind of a hassle but the new ice maker came in that same week & was replaced. Not something you'd expect with a brand new frig!!

I bought this a month ago. It works really well except the doors do not open all of the way. They only open up about two thirds of the way. Also, any tall items like salad dressing bottles have to go inside and do not fit on the door.
