Works well but watch out for chlorine
from Philadelphia PA
Comments about Whirlpool Top Loading 3.5 Cubic Foot Washer:
Had this a few months now. Washes well. Be careful using bleach. Washed load of whites with chlorine using dispenser. Then did color load.Got some bleached spots on a garment (happened 2x). I assess that there was some bleach left on top of bleach adding area, which the cloths touched. A redesign for protection of this issue would be helpful. Now I use 1/2 cup bleach and chase with 1/2 cup water. Then wipe the dispenser area with a paper towel to get out residual. No problems since. Addition, the instructions on what settings to use on what fabrics are very confusing.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Takes some getting used to. Clothes get clean but time to do so is much longer. Some cycles seem to use too little water and others too much for what has to be done. I had a 25 yr old Whirlpool that never gave me any trouble until the very end of its life. It was easier to use. I doubt that this one will be the same. Good machine but I still would have liked the mechanical controls.

I bought this washing machine last month, and I like the fact it has dials with many different choices.

About Me Heavy Duty User
I would highly recommend this washer. It is quiet and yet I barely know it's on. Keep the hi tech machines, this still has a water censor and every setting you need. I had the expensive front loader but it was always needing repairs. I felt the clothes never felt clean. I like the agitator in the middle, I feel a totally difference in my clothes.. More expensive isn't all it cracked up to be

I love the different settings this washer offers...push button start, the option to use 1 rinse or 2. Very easy to use.

So far, so good
from Dallas, TX
We bought this machine a month ago so I cannot comment on how long it will last. We were reluctantly replacing a Maytag which we had owned for well over 20 years. So far I am very content with this machine. It has a large capacity. I like to save water etc but I had read reviews of machines which said that the clothes hardly got wet. However, this machine has the option of a deep water wash (it isn't that deep) which I am using and I also like the presoak feature. I wish you could lift the lid while the machine is filling as I now have to walk into the kitchen to fetch water to dilute the fabric softener. However, this is my only complaint and this seems to be a very good machine, especially for the price.
