I needed a low water machine, but was thinking I would have to give up white whites! My clothes are clean and about half the time!

leaves a bit to be desired.
from New Jersey
Overall have been less than impressed with the overall performance. Clothes do not come as clean as you would expect.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I have had this washer for about amonth! I love being able to wash what I need and it fits because there is no agitator. So far so good! Just need the dryer to match. The Whirlpool washer is energy Efficiant which I love saves money!

Bought the washer dryer set 5 years ago. Just 2 of us so expected it would last long time. Soap scum on clothes (especially shows on darks) and now repairman says motor burned up. Won't be buying anymore whirlpool washers to try to match the dryer
Bought ours in Feb 2012. So far, so good. Had one service call when it was new. Sometimes dark colored clothes wind up with a detergent mark on them. Have to rewash. Usually only happens with one heavy dark blue shirt.Don't expect it to last nearly as long as my last machine (20+ years)but OK so far. Not going to pay $300 + for a service call when something breaks. I'll just buy a new machine

This washer started out strong but quickly started having problems. I have now replaced the main controller. Of course 1 month after it went out of warranty then the motor. Then the. Controller again.
It was great until the warranty expired at 3 years old.

I bought this and the matching dryer a few years ago. At first the machine was decent...I did have to retighten the bottom nut on the belt gear in my first year, but other than that it was good for the first three years. Right after my warranty expired the machine took longer and longer to wash and started doing weird things like not spin or not agitate. No codes were thrown. It also started using hot water to rinse instead of cold. I finally replaced it today as now the control board is supposedly bad (still no codes thrown). The dryer has been great. The washer was my most expensive washer purchase and I was disappointed. Also the interior finish degraded quickly around the bottom edge of the top of the cabinet. In the last couple years, I went from a +1 to a family of 6 :) The problems with this machine made laundry difficult. We would have to unplug, spin the machine by hand so it would start, etc. Wash took 2-3 hours a load at times.Right after I bought this new model, Whirlpool came out with another model at the same price point that is much better from what I hear. Many repair guys told me this one was a dud in their line-up.I love Whirlpool, but not this machine.
Waste of Money!

This is absolutely the worst washer I have ever owned! It doesn't clean the clothes, it takes forever and you often have to wash the same item several times to get it clean. Sometimes it just sits and ticks then it can take over an hour and a half to wash and the clothes still aren't clean!

I bought this washer and dryer and it is the biggest mistake I have ever made. I will never buy another Whirlpool product as long as I live...
I Won't Buy Another Whirlpool Washing Machine
By Former Whirlpool Customer

I bought this machine from my local family owned appliance store on 2/21/12. As of 12/10/15 I have had to make 3 service calls to have this machine repaired. This first call was on 8/15/13 because the washer was noisy/grinding during the spin cycle. It turns out a nut fell off from underneath the machine. The repairman apologized for charging me for something he said he saw frequently with this machine and told me if it happened again to super glue it on. The most recent problem was the washer was draining but not spinning and the clothes were wet when the washing cycle ended. A service call indicated that the machine needed a new capacitor. Also, during this service call the appliance repairman asked if I noticed how loud the machine was. He stated the machine was very loud and that I probably didn't notice because it was getting louder gradually. He said this is caused by the transmission bearing and that this indicated the machine would need this replaced in the foreseeable future. He told me at that point I would probably be throwing good money after bad and should consider buying another machine. I emailed Whirlpool after his visit on 12/10/15 to complain. I was not expecting anything from them and true to form during my call with them today 12/21/15 they said "because of the age of the machine there was nothing they could do." My machine is not even 4 years old. I told the rep I wasn't surprised that nothing could be done but when the time comes to replace this machine it won't be with another Whirlpool. My last machine was a Maytag that lasted me 20 years. I have a family of 3 and do about 6/7 loads of laundry a week. Very disappointing.
