Comments about Yamaha Network 5.1 ch Network AV Receiver:

The Yamaha V475 is exactly what I was looking for at an incredible price. Setup with my Samsung BD, PS3, Wii, and Apple TV to a Projector was very straight forward. Internet setup was easy for internet radio although we mostly listen to music from our iPod/iPhone/iPads through AirPlay, which is also very easy and straight forward. I'm extremely happy with this receiver although, now that I have my theater room setup I would have upgraded to a receiver with Speaker B outputs so I could play music in another room. In my case, I would have wired the speaker B to the outside patio.

Comments about Yamaha Network 5.1 ch Network AV Receiver:

I picked the RX-V475 because of the 575 watts. Paired with a good set of polk 5.1 with sub this has plenty of clean volume. It has features many would like but I just don't use. I like the spotify/Pandora option but instead of purchasing separate ( which is a con, it should be built-in) wifi adapter, I use the phone jack to my ipad, kindle, or smart phone and works great. My biggest con is there is no equalizer which in my book should always be a must. It does have a few slightly different presets, but nothing like an eq can do. For the price I won't complain, good value

Comments about Yamaha Network 5.1 ch Network AV Receiver:

I control receiver with handheld remote and IOS app. I wish I could also control it with Mac or web control software.

connection to BD player, Apple TV, Panasonic Viera TV and particularly Panasonic Viera sound bar/subwoofer was a challenge. I have never figured out how to combine Panasonic wireless subwoofer or other Panasonic speakers with speakers direct wired to 475. I can get them all if I play the Panasonic speakers thru the TV but that's limiting.

Comments about Yamaha Network 5.1 ch Network AV Receiver:

I don't know why I strayed from Yamaha. I have an old two-channel Yamaha receiver I bought about 25 years ago to listen to tunes. Nowadays, you have to give it a smack to make the user display light up, but I still use it regularly. It still sounds great and works great. For a surround-sound a/v center I've gone through three or four other brands--I've lost track. But with thoughts of my faithful two-channel in mind, I came back to Yamaha when I needed to upgrade recently. I paid about half for this receiver what I paid for my last non-Yamaha unit, but so far it's twice as good. Simple to set up, works great, sounds great, but with cutting-edge specs and features, it already feels like a keeper.

We bought this receiver to go with our new HDMI enabled television and it was fairly easy to set up even with our old non HDMI DVD player (next on the list to be replaced). I did use YouTube to clarify some of the instructions but once hooked up the sound and the remote are easy to navigate.

All and all quite pleased! Could have RCA Audio in's on all AV's...AV5 only makes switching from 1 source to another harder, but tolerable.

Comments about Yamaha Network 5.1 ch Network AV Receiver:

Wanted a simple 5.1 setup for the bedroom. This unit does the trick. The receiver hooks up to components and the network easily. The remote easily programs to control other devices. There some "odd" features that I have no use for (take a close look at the front and back panels, the remote and then look at the manual before you buy. One surprise I encountered was that if you hook up a blurry player to the receiver via component video cables, you must hook the television up to the receiver with component cables. The same is true for HDMI it is one or the other for ALL connections or no signal.

I use this product for movies/tv/music/sports.

Spotify is buggy. The air play icon on my iphone is not shown when I choose to use it but it works great with Pandora via iphone. With Spotify I always have to reset my router so that the airplay icon appears on iphone and I'm not sure why it does this only with SPOTIFY.

Other features using the iphone app work great.

Comments about Yamaha Network 5.1 ch Network AV Receiver:

I bought this receiver to replace a receiver that didn't have network capabilities. I am pleasantly pleased with this unit. I've never owned a Yamaha brand device before, but after reading reviews I decided to give it a try. I would definitely buy a Yamaha brand receiver again when this one needs replacing. Hopefully that won't be for a long time! The only negative things I can say are that the remote is very busy with too many buttons and the on-screen menu is not very visually appealing. Other than that I love this receiver and love the fact that I can control it from my tablet and phone. I would definitely recommend this product to my friends!

Loved the RX-475. The unit was a big upgrade from the a basic Samsung home entertainment system I got with my old big screen years ago. I only bought the receiver and used it with the old janky speaker I had with my old unit, but what a difference. I had no idea the sound out of my old shelf speakers could be so good. Setup was straight forward and easy to get everything going. All in all I'd say it's a great mid-entry system for the price. Can't wait to save up and get some real speaker to go with it - woo-hoo!.
