Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm hot for this hotplate An Excellent hotplate, and very durable. It also heats up rather quickly, so be careful not to burn yourselves; I especially like the heating cover rather than just exposed coils, which seems to give you a larger, smooth cooking surface.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from HOT PLATE DID THE JOB We bought this single-burner hotplate and used it for two weeks, while the gas was shut off in our building. (We could not afford to eat out for two weeks.) The product is affordable and worked perfectly. For those two weeks, it was a five-star product. I gave it only four stars in my review, because I don't know how it would hold up after longer use. I'm going to store it and will be glad to have it if the gas ever gets shut off again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Workable I purchased the Eurostar Single Burner bc I did not have access to my stovetop. FYI, the indicator light only remained on once it reached the temperature it was set to. I successfully boiled water in a 3 qt sauce pan which took about 10 min or so. I tried boiling water in a larger sauce pot, but after an hour of waiting for it to boil I gave up. I found it only best to use 3 qt pans which fit the size of this burner, as it only really cooked in the center of the pan. If you want to sauté vegetables, keep the cuts on the small side. All in all I was able to manage with this burner so for my purposes I was ok with my purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok while it lasted It heats up fast enough. It stopped heating up after only a couple of months of use. The power light was still coming on, so I disassembled the base and saw one of the wires had come loose. It was a push-on connection, so I just pushed it into place and after that it worked fine again.
