Easyinstallation as long as you can find the right circuit breaker. Would benice if they were integrated with nest max.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant Brilliant. These automagically check for proper function on a regular basis. If the CO detectors sense a problem, they can automatically shut down the furnace. An installation tip: when adding new units, hold the unit right in front of the Nest thermostat when scanning in the unit id. And if you don't have Nest thermostats, you should!

The link together and tell you in a human voice where the fire or smoke has been detected. It can also tell you if the smoke is increasing or decreasing. When you turn off the lights it glows green to assure you that it passed all test and you are safe to sleep soundly. Also doubles as a night light and works excellent.

It is nice knowing it sends you alerts when away and when they do go off in the notifications it tell you which one is going off. Another nice thing is knowing it does continues self test make sure things are ok.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet protection Our new house has an open floor plan downstairs and a smoke detector in the ceiling between the living room and dining room, with the kitchen just a few feet the other side of the dining room. This created a huge problem when cooking. Almost any kind of roasting or searing of meat would trigger the alarm. This happened almost every day. Finally, I bought the Nest Protect based on two factors: it can be disabled or disarmed from my phone, and it warns you verbally first before going off, which gives you the chance to disable it before it sends your pets into a panic attack. So far, I am very pleased, and it seems like it is even more easily able to distinguish between cooking smoke or vapor and actual smoke from a dangerous fire. So far, I have not even heard the warning message, and yesterday, I accidentally burned some bacon. I highly recommend the Nest Protect. I'll probably buy one for the upstairs hall, too, eventually.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it Nest Protect isn't cheap, but for me it's worth it. I've had cheap smoke and carbon monoxide detectors that worked okay, but could be annoying at times. A detector that chirps repeatedly at 3 a.m. can be a real pain, especially if you need a ladder to get to it. Nest Protect not only gives you the ability to turn off false alarms and such with your phone, it can also let you know if there is a problem when you're away from home. I also like the Pathlight feature as well as little touches like the Nightly Promise green glow. In addition, Nest Protect is nicely designed.

Can this smoke detector be "daisy chained" with other smoke detectors in a dwelling? By code here, all smoke detectors must be daisy chained (interconnected) so that all alarm when one detects a problem "smoke or carbon monoxide"
