Very quiet on night mode
After an exhaustive online search, I chose to purchase the Vornado AC550 Air Purifier because it is made in the USA, and the 5 year Vornado warranty is excellent. I use this air purifier in my bedroom and the night mode feature is perfectly quiet, just as I was hoping for. (I don't like a lot of white noise while I sleep because I need to hear my kids if they wake in the night.) I crank it all the way up while I'm vacuuming or dusting and I leave it running on high for an hour or so to clean the air. When I'm not cleaning I use the auto mode during the daytime and switch to night mode when I go to bed. Since I bought this unit I have had less dust in my room. Overall, I'm really happy with it.

Smoke clearance
I live in Oregon where fires are common. Even though I have double pane windows, smoke gets in my house. After a recent red air alert, I turned on my air purifier full power, & the smoke cleared within a couple of hours. I am amazed at its efficiency. Luckily, my sister who lives in Kansas where products are designed recommended Vornado & knows about the quality of their products.

It works great!
I bought it because my wife was sneezing a lot and website connected it in a couple days she didn’t have any more sneezes so far it’s working great except if you accidentally tap it or lift it up and it doesn't work most likely it’s because one half move up so I push down from the top from one side to the other till it turn on

Best air purifier ever.
This purifier was a game changer! I usually have pretty bad allergies but not anymore since I got this. It’s super quiet too. I also have it in a very large room with high ceilings and it still works throughout the entire room. I highly recommend this product.

Great for after painting a room
I put up plaster, then primer and the smell from fumes were harsh and mind you we used good quality paint. I knew I had 2 more days of work ahead of me. Picked this up same day thanks to curve side pick up. Finished the next round, unpacked the boxed and it was even more convenient to setup and use. Literally plug and play. Choose your setting and that’s it. Within 20 minutes the room was smelling fresh & breathable. Satisfied customer.

Wonderful Air Purifier
I purchased this purifier almost a month ago. I have parrots, (in a separate room) which if anyone has birds, they will know the dander they create. This purifier is definitely the cure for this. It's absolutely fantastic. I wipe it off every day, vacuum the pre-filter (carbons) once a week or as needed. I've had birds for over 20 years and never have I had such a wonderful purifier. I've tried others (smaller, household ones), but the motor in them, didn't survive the dander. I'm very pleased with it. We also have the Vornado humidifier, which I purchased last year and also love.

Love the multi level of usage
I needed something to help my child with her allergies. So far I can tell there isn't has much dust in the air and I am not having to dust as much either. Hoping I can keep the air clean for our health. Worth the money I spent

Awesome air purifier!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This air purifier is wonderful! We live in a small apartment and were having a problem with smelling smoke from the neighbors. This product has really helped a lot and it is fairly quiet,but even if it was louder i wouldn't mind because it would still be worth it to get some relief. My husband has asthma and we both have allergies and this really does help rid the air of a lot of pollutants and odors. I still smell some of the neighbors cooking occasionally,but we can deal with that. We don't smell the smoke anymore and I am sure it helps with other things in the place too.

Great product to have!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family in its entirety are allergy sufferers. One of the primary allergens that bother us is dust. We have a large living room with laminate floors. It gets very dusty. One of the main allergens that I am allergic to is dogs. We have two dachshunds. Between the dust and doggies, I stay pretty miserable year round. Within two days of using the Vornado AC550 True HEPA I could see significantly less dust particles in the air in my living room. My allergies were slightly better as well. I love the different modes that are available on this product. It has a nighttime mode and a sleep mode. Very convenient. The only issue I found with this product is that on low speed it has a soft rattle to it. I am sure I can figure out what is causing it, I just haven't taken the time to do so. It does not rattle on the highest speed.

Definitely worth the buy!!!

Once I put this in her room, later that night she slept with her mouth close and she was able to breath much better. I don't have allergies but I notied that the air in her room was much lighter. She wasn't sneezing all the time. The Vornado is so awesome!!

Powerful Purifier

I have noticed that I dust less often since I have been using this as well. I really like that there are so many settings on it, and it is fairly quiet depending on the setting you choose. Exceptional Air Purifier
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am extremely please and impressed with this air purifier. First of all it was extremely easy and fast to set up and get functioning immediately. The design was a pleasant added surprise in the fact that it is aesthetically pleasing and can fit into a room without having to be hidden away in a corner. It is a very quiet machine that has a tremendous amount of power to do it's job. It is easy to move around into other rooms or locations and that too is a very strong point to be considered. I am very pleased with how well it clears a room. I have been using it for only a few weeks so far, but I know that I made the right decision by choosing this air purifier over the less expensive and more cheaply made ones.

I would highly recommend this air purifier.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with this air purifier. I keep it on the auto setting. This enables the fan to run constantly and quietly. When there is a flurry of activity in the room, the fan picks up. This can be a bit loud, but since it's only occasionally, I doesn't bother me. We live in the desert which means I am dusting everyday. Since I have had this air purifier in the living room, I have noticed a decrease in the amount of dust. My only complaint is that the back panel, removable so as to change the filter, comes off too easily. Every time I move the unit, the panel pops off. All in all, I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to friends and family.

AC550 True HEPA Air Purifier

The hepa filters are highly effective at eliminating dust, pet odors and pollen particles in small and large rooms, providing clean refreshing air during allergy season. Allergy season can be very challenging when the grass and tree pollens are at high levels on a daily basis and thus a cool and clean environment is a must during this period. The hepa filters operate very quietly in the sleep mode allowing the air to circulate without a lot of noise for a peaceful rest.

I love this air purifier
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who has owned a lot of air purifiers, I can say this is one of the good ones. I have severe dust allergies - actually I'm allergic to all the respiratory triggers, but dust is by far the worst. So I've been using air purifiers for a long time. I hadn't heard of Vornado previously, but I'm very impressed by their presentation. The website is sleek, the products are quality, and they hit all of the important features, especially in size of microns and hepa filters. What I like best: the quality of the filtration is great for my dust allergies to reduce the environmental dust. The amount of multiple filters is something I haven't seen before. The pre and hepa filters are most important, but the carbon filter is nice too for smells and cigarette smoke (something my Honeywell has too but not as strong). The strength of this machine is also a big plus, and I have noticed it turns over the air in the room frequently enough to reduce surface dust. I also really like the noise it makes. I've kept it on high (3rd setting up) in my bedroom, which is a small-to-average size. It works great at night as a white noise machine, with the perfect level of consistent sound. It's a perfect replacement for an 11-year old delonghi which I can no longer find replacement filters for. And the lower settings are sufficiently quiet, in my opinion. And finally, the extra dust sensing setting is a really nice feature to have. Cons: so far I only have one, and that's the sleep setting is useless to me. You should run this unit while you are in the room. Since I have it in my bedroom, it runs at night. The sleep setting senses low light and turns the unit off, or on with more light. I need the opposite, but this could be useful in something like a living room. All in all, I'm really happy with the Vornado and would say it rivals or surpasses my Honeywell and Delonghi, which were my other favorites in making good quality air purifiers.

The only purifier you need for a whole house!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Vornado Air Purifier as a sample to review, and I absolutely love it. We've tested it in every room of our home and it has sucked up any lingering smells and dirt in the rooms, and all of them smell and feel cleaner to be in. My whole house smells amazing! We even put it into the laundry room where the kids left wet towels and bathing suits to smell like mildew, and it took away that odor as well. We have settled on keeping it in a central location so that it can purify the air where the family gathers most often, and it's great walking into a fresh smelling home. Our allergies have gotten a lot better over the last week as well. The only "con" I associate with this is the price of the filter replacements, but I hope that they last for quite a while at the price point for replacement.
