Fantastic unit
We purchased this model back in 2002 for our new home in NC. We have NEVER had an issue of any kind. Never needed any service other than the ice maker freezing up a few times, which I was able to fix. The best refrigerator ever. I am currently looking to replace it with the exact same unit only newer. I’m sure after 20 some years it has to be more energy efficient. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

Awesome Refrigerator
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a 23 cu. ft. Kenmore Elite French Door Refrigerator that died after only 9 yrs. Even though this refrigerator is only 22 cu. ft., it has much more storage space than the larger Kenmore. The large one piece door with no water dispenser etc. allows for a massive amount of door storage. The compressor is smooth and quit, and keeps everything at the perfect temps in both the refrigerator and the freezer. I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend this appliance to anyone in the market for a refrigerator.

reliable product, great for seniors
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an Amana in my garage from 1992 and one behind my bar from 1996. They both are still working great even after I moved almost a year ago. I bought this model when I remodeled the kitchen at my new place and we love it. My Mother is 75 and walks with a cane, she lives with me and this model is great for her. This fridge keeps everything cold evenly, there is a lot of shelf space, the door also has large shelves. Being that my Mom is semi-handicapped we keep everything she consumes at her level so no bending down or high reaching, and nothing gets dropped. When people come over they can't believe how much room a top fridge has (they all have side by side doors). I thought that having a smooth finish on the front doors would get a lot of fingerprints but it cleans up very easy with windex and a paper towel. The fridge at my old house was stainless steel and never looked clean. I will only buy Amana refrigerators from now on I researched all of them but I went with Amana because of my history with the product. This is the BEST fridge ever.

Nice roomy fridge

It's the first time we have had a freezer on the bottom and we like that as well. The only set back I have is that there was a sticky substance on the door when it arrived and in trying to clean it off with dish liquid it left tiny scratches that I am definitely not happy with. I contacted Amana and have not heard from them for a week or so.

For the money and the previous experience with reliability why look at anything else? I did look at other brands but kept coming back to the Amana. This is a no frills refrigerator but it is best at keeping food cold period. Hopefully I can get 18 years out of this unit. Solid and reliable!
