You should note that for the voice mail to work, you must select 4 or fewer rings before the voice mail picks up. (We had selected 6 rings and voice mail did not work.)

Even with my cellphones, I felt it necessary to still have a landline. Superstorm Sandy proved that. It was available to ship. It arrived when it was supposed to. The instructions were vague on installing the main piece into the wall. I had to access the AT&T website for this model and work it from their online instructions, but I've done harder things in my lifetime. The clarity is excellent, reaching all ends of the house and outdoors. It filled my needs.
