I wanted a name brand that has been around a while and that would fit over my stove. I started my hunt for a replacement at several large home appliance stores. I settled for the Amana for a number of reasons. It was just one inch lower than my old microwave and the amount of wattage was just under twice what "old spark" had. Which has altered how I cook and warm things in the new Amana. It takes less time to reheat left overs as well as making my tea. I now can boil water in 2 minutes instead of 5.

No hotspots, even cooking, and even does popcorn nice. The only ding I give it is on the popcorn, you have to enter EITHER 3.0 or 3.5 to tell it what size bag you have. That's just strange!
