I had a previous model that was Maytag which I always like it’s looks and well I want ready to exchange it but after 18 years it was time and bound to happen. I’m very pleased with the new micro wave. Now I’ll probably buy a new stovetop to match the current models.

Went in fairly easy, works great.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This microwave is a replacement for a 2006 OTR Maytag microwave that served us well until recently. Since repair parts were no longer available, we decided to get a replacement.
Once we identified this unit as a good replacement, my biggest concern was if it would fit in the same space as the existing one - especially the vent through the wall. The hole in the wall could NOT be moved. Thankfully, Maytag had the wisdom to put the exhaust in the same spot. The mounting screws and cord hole needed to be re-drilled in the upper cabinet, but I was able to get the old holes plugged.
The microwave itself works great. My only criticism is that the power setting is not displayed with the time remaining on the display all the time. It will flash every 15-20 seconds, but I would prefer it to be always on.

Where is this microwave manufactured ?
It’s manufactured in China.
Significantly, although it is 30” wide, the door cannot be opened within that space. It is a serious design flaw. If installed next to a wall, fridge or cabinet, the door will not open. The hinges are too far to the left. It can be extremely frustrating. I have to open the cabinet door in order to open the microwave! What has happened to Maytag?!
