Rated 5 out of 5 by Awais from It is great, sleek design [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] perfect for our daily use, and look great. quality is also great and so far no issues. one thing i would say is the time control is bit not normal in the sense i can not set the timer for 13seconds :) because the number pad is not available and you can only go up and down by 10sec or 30sec. secondly it difficult to adjust clock, you can only set the clock after plug in, so for adjustment you have to unplug and plug back in. i think samsung can consider these for future design and models.

The one in the Samsung rose more, was more moist, and was baked more quickly! Then I split the biscuits, butter the tops and grill for a bit to brown them under my broiler. In the Samsung, I used the grill mode on the crusty plate on the rack. They crisp browned to perfection and not as dried out as the ones in the oven. I've made garlic toast in minutes for dinner with no heat in the house! Next are cookies, casseroles and some baking tries. Love It!

Regular microwave feature works as expected and the convection oven is just something I have never known to exist and it's REALLY good. You may think it might be too expensive, but I would still recommend it for the price!

The accessories provided are highly useful. The unit itself is very attractive & relatively quiet in its operation. I love the drop down door design! I also am starting to love the design of the control panel. It gives you the feeling that you're operating a food replicator in a sci-fi movie! This is a different animal than most microwaves so there is a lengthy learning curve. Don't lose the manual!!! This unit has replaced a traditional, more powerful microwave so there is an increase in the time it take to heat or cook things. That being said, everything actually tastes better with this unit & that's far more important!

Previous reviews said there was not a quick start, but there is a 30 min add that all you have to do is hit that and push start (ok, two steps) to initiate the microwave cycle. I like the broil function and the convection although I have not used them enough to say they are great (will update later). Overall a great purchase especially given the reasonable price.

I just used a bit of famous Dave's steak seasoning and put the steak on the tall rack, set the program to Auto Power Convection. It beeped when I had to turn the steak over. When it was done I let it sit for a few minutes. When I tried the steak I was speechless, it was super tender and a beautiful pink inside. The steak had so much flavor I cannot begin to describe it. This oven can let anyone cook a perfect steak. I had almost forgot, had made some homemade russet potato fries that were great, I cut my potatoes, rinse then dry with a paper towel. I spray a thin cost of canola oil on the potatoes place then in the oven and let the slim fry program handle the rest. There is one negative thing though.... The menus and buttons are not really intuitive to use. Once you get past that your ready for some amazing food.

Yes you can bake a cake in this using the Power Convection - see below taken from the owner manual. Power Convection guide Cooking with Power Convection is a powerful combination of the inner grill heater and the convection ring heater with fan at side. The hot air blows from the top of the cavity through holes into the oven. The heating element at top and side and the fan at the side-wall, keeps the hot air circulating evenly. Use this mode for biscuits, individual scones, rolls, and cakes as well as fruit cakes, choux, and soufflés. Before cooking, preheat with guided temperatures. All conventional ovenproof cookware, baking tins and sheets – anything you would normally use in a traditional convection oven – can be used.

Can this be installed in a cabinet without the built in trim?

Yes, they specially state to allow for 4 inches above the unit and 2 inches on the sides for ventilation and it was not made for a built in.  We have a 2 inch space above the unit and have had no issues.  We have it in our island under the countertop.  I love the way the door opens like oven and it does look like it's built in.  The only negative thing I can say about it is that it is extremely heavy - 71 lbs.
