it's great! cuter than other ACs, fairly easy install, and much quieter as well
one drawback is that it is a little larger when out of the window than other ACs we have used for the same room, which makes it harder to store. we are now using the insulating side panels which seem to be working well but for those who have space to store it is something to consider

Original unit was functioning as "Fan" only. No change after troubleshooting. Windmill customer service was responsive and supportive. New replacement unit (no additional cost) now installed and fully operative. Something of a novelty in the year 2023 to have a company whose customer service is easy to access and who stands behind their product. Highly recommend.

Customer service win !
I purchased the 6k unit and found that the Wi-Fi would not work at all. thought I'd wasted the extra I paid for this unit based on that feature.
But I was wrong. a few chats with customer service, and they sent out a new unit at their expense! and showed me a place to take my old one to recycle it.
that was helpful. as I had the old one also to get rid of.
All good things to say about the new unit, and the customer service!

My first windmill had an
My first windmill had an issue with the temperature setting. After a month and a half after installation, the temp. on the unit would drop to 60 degrees and I could not raise it up with the phone app, remote or using the control on the unit. I contacted support and they responded within a few hours . We tried several steps to resolve the issue with no luck. Windmill then sent me a replacement unit and informed me to keep the old unit. Excellent support and response Windmill!!.

The company thought of everything to provide for an aesthetic installation especially the added side insulation. The unit is quiet and works efficiently. I really like it. The set up was pretty simple but I wish there was more than 1 long screws to install into the window. Apart from that, the unit is nice and keeps my apartment comfortable
If I were to request anything it would be to have some premade automations. Like turn down in the evenings and blow colder at noon idk I just don’t have the drive to figure out what the heck is going on for this. Some premade ones that are generic would be nice.

I've loved having my windmill
I've loved having my windmill AC! It's the perfect size for my small window in my home office. I have a lot of sun in my office all day (it's on a corner) and that's awesome for lighting but leaves the space really hot for video calls. It was super easy to set up and I love being able to adjust the setting from the app on my phone. So far I love working and not sweating!!

I just installed my second Windmill which is as good-looking and functional as the first. I love that the AC shoots the air up so it is not blowing directly on you but creates a flow of cool air that keeps the entire room pleasant. The support staff was knowledgeable, responsive and super nice.

I love this ac. It was pretty easy to install so I was able to do it on my own. It also cools my room pretty quickly. The smartphone capabilities are also pretty cool. Only thing I could say is that it may not sit as flush in some older window types

Does the unit ITSELF let any light in the room? I’m not talking about the brackets or the sides. I am asking if any part of the AC allows sun to creep through.
But beware - the vent is so close to the window, and shoots straight up. You will have to have flush mount shads if you want a dark room. The vent will blow behind any shade or blind that is more than an inch or two from the window.
