In many homes and apartments today, you may have a sleeve in the wall for your air conditioner, but no air conditioner. What do you do? Well, the very first thing you should do is remove any covering that you have over the sleeve. Ensure that you're able to see through to the outside. This way you know your air conditioner that you place in the sleeve will be breathing properly. The next thing is to get the dimensions. What is the height of your air conditioner? What is the width of the air conditioner? And also important, the depth of the sleeve for this air conditioner. Ideally, you want to get an air conditioner that fits in the sleeve perfectly. Remember, it must be a rear breathing air conditioner. In many cases, you won't be able to find one that fits perfectly. So what's the solution? It's simple. It's known as a universal fit rear breathing air conditioner. It's designed to fit 95% of all the sleeves ever manufactured. This is a real installation, so let me show you how it's done. Once your universal air conditioner is placed inside your existing sleeve, you're going to notice that there is a gap all the way around. This gap is now filled with foam. Once the foam is installed, your next step is to install a frame. And with the frame installed, you have a beautiful finished look.
