Benefits of Smart TVs

Simply put, a Smart TV is a TV that can connect to the internet. If you like to watch YouTube or stream movies from online services, we recommend a smart TV. Smart televisions connect to your home wireless network and are controlled by the television's remote control, making it easy to always find something to watch. Some smart TVs have a web browser built in, allowing you to surf the web too. All smart TVs have apps that deliver access to the most popular services like Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu. Keep in mind that not all television brands have the same apps and functionality. LG and Samsung have a great selection of apps, and even have their own app store. Other smart TV brands like Sony use the Android TV operating system which gives you easy access to Google Cast, voice search, and a wide selection of apps, games, and content from Google Play. You can even play PS3 games directly on your TV, no console required. You don't necessarily need a lot of apps, but make sure the apps you plan on using are available for the TV that you've selected. If you've recently purchased a new television that was not a smart TV, don't worry - there are several devices that you can plug into your TV to make it smart! Devices like Apple TV, Google Chromecast, and Roku will plug directly into one of the HDMI ports on your television, and like a smart TV, they connect to your home Wi-Fi network and are all controlled with the included remote. Some even have voice recognition, making it easier to find and stream your favorite content. Ready to find your smart TV? Get started now!
