OMG! Best Speed Oven Ever

Bosch Speed Oven

I wanted a double oven, however my space only allowed a microwave over a single oven, that is until I found the Bosch Speed oven! This oven is a combination microwave and oven with broiler too! I love it! I get the best of both all in one appliance, so now I get my double oven and still a microwave too! Kudos to Bosch!!

A Microwave to truly believe in!

It is beautiful, roomy, and the Sensor Reheat button is such a gift! I simply place my leftover dish inside, press Sensor Reheat and know I will have a perfectly reheated dish! The design is sleek and sophisticated.

Wonderful!!

The aestetics of the appliance look and fit well in our kitchen. It's extremely quiet during operation and does a great job evenly heating the contents. The display is easy to read and has numerous programs available to prepare a wide range of dishes.

this is faster than our previous older microwave. It is easier to dial in a cook time and start it quickly. The auto defrost tends to overheat the food item's outer layer in my experience. The included instruction manual is worth paying attention to..

First Convection Microwave
We have had this unit for several weeks now and really like the look and the operation of the oven. It has some great features and we still have a lot to learn about it. I also purchased a 27" wall oven to go with the speed oven.

Great microwave oven
My wife didn't want me to buy a speed oven; she wanted only a microwave. I convinced her since we didn't have space for two full wall ovens. Last night she told me told she loves the oven; and I like it very much, too. There are times I wish that the oven could bake without the convection fans: the oven would be great for baking small items. Apart from that, I have no complaints. It is necessary to read the instructions when first using it because of the features. Been using it for three months: so far, no problems.

ALL GOOD BUT 1 SMALL NIT
Easy to use. Quiet. The alert beep is too quiet and support will be out soon to check on that. Love using it otherwise and service is excellent. Have not tried convection cooking in it yet, but my neighbor who has the same unit says she never has to use her standard sized oven any more. In our installation, it is a little bit high and only my husband can clean the inside, but that's a good thing!

Beautiful and Efficient
I bought the oven and the microwave and together you can't have a better kitchen for cooking gourmet meals that will make you a star even with leftovers. The ovens are quiet and the food comes out golden brown, evenly cooked and faster than any oven I have ever had. I can't say enough about how extremely pleased I am with my choice. The beauty of the stainless steel enhances the look of my kitchen as well. Easy to clean and keep shiny!

Surprised at the short life span
We installed the first combo speed micro unit in mid 2016.
In December of 2023, the heating functions for both the convection oven and the microwave stopped getting hot.
We literally used the oven function maybe two dozen times in those 7 years.
We used the micro function nearly every day to heat up food or beverages, not for cooking.
I think it may have been the panel that died rendering this unit useless.
It was advised that we replace <> not repair, so that's what we did.
I hope that the longevity lasts much longer this time.

Great microwave, could use louder alerts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice, powerful microwave. It is good looking, easy to use, and has many settings and some nice options, including convection. I would have given it a 5 star rating if only the alerts (the ding when it's done, timer) were more audible. As it is, the alerts are not very loud, even with the higher volume setting. Also the illumination on the the control panel is not very bright. (I also have the Bosch oven and it does not have these issues.)
Note that the door opens from top to bottom. If you have it installed above an oven and are not tall (like me!), it can be difficult to get things in and out of the oven.

Nice Looking, Quiet, Solid, Works
We like our speed oven. It looks great, has a solid feel to it, and gets the job done in all operating modes. The user manual is easy to follow. However...
Problem #1 -- This appliance has a VERY WEAK alert sound even when MAX volume has been selected. This makes the Speed Oven’s time functions useless and requires a separate kitchen timer. Less expensive microwaves have pleasant, loud alerts and will even sound a delay reminder if food is left too long in the microwave after completion of a heat cycle. Bosch does not offer this feature.
Problem #2 -- The installation manual could be improved by illustrating the attached outlet plug and offering an example of what an appropriate 20-amp receptacle should look like that will accept Bosch's VERY UNUSUAL plug. I completely understand why Bosh supplied their unique 20-amp plug but I for one have never seen a plug like that even though, as it turned out, my receptacle accept such a unique plug.
Problem #3 – Bosch does NOT offer a 27” matching drawer. They only offer a warming oven. This forces customers to either upscale to a warming oven they don’t need or put up with mismatched cabinets. Since I needed to fit the speed oven into an existing 27" opening, I did not have the flexibility to simply specify a 30" cabinet on a new installation.

Beautiful, but not without it's Flaws
Had this Speed Oven installed a week ago. After the first use, discovered a grayish film over the 1/4 right lower corner of the viewing window. Not on the outside or on the inside of the window, but between them. Called Bosch, who had never heard of the issue before, and my local appliance retailer. Have a repairman scheduled for tomorrow to see the problem. Hopefully, this issue can be resolved without further delay.
Instructions take several read-throughs to distinguish what utensils are appropriate for specific cooking methods. Operation relatively quiet.

My first convection oven.
I've always wanted a convection/microwave and now I have one. I hadn't thought about splatters from the microwave getting burnt on the interior when the convection baking is on. It is something I now am aware of. I put my microwave over the oven and with the door hinging on the bottom, I have problems getting in and our of this appliance. My husband is taller than I so it's not a problem for him. It's great for his 3 biscuits in the mornings.

Frequent failures and repairs
Have had this unit appliance nearly 5 years now, and it has randomly shut off during/after use many times over the course of these years. Calling yet again today for a repair, though so many "fixes" have yielded no long-lasting results. When it works, it's great, but comes at the cost of lots of frustration.

Short Life Expectancy for an Expensive Product
We purchased the microwave 11/2018 and it died 6/2020 - only 1 year and 7 months later! Really?????
During its brief lifespan, the microwave worked very well, but there is room for some definite design improvements. The door opens top to bottom and the microwave is very deep. It was extremely awkward to clean and at times to use. The panel light was barely visible and the alert tones way too subtle. My Bosche oven opens from the side - an amazingly convenient option and the panel light is much brighter (the alert tones are still too subtle though).
