My new favorite headphones
I have used way too many headphones in my day. Just to name a few: Sony XM3/XM5, Sennheiser M3, 1More Quad Driver, 1More Sonoflow, 1More Sonoflow Pro, ATH-M50X, Bose NC700, Bose Soundlink, Bose AE, Bose QC35, and my favorite of the last few years (until now) the Fidelio X2-HR.
While almost every headphone on this list could best the Fidelio in low-end bass, nothing on the list above could touch it in terms of clarity or detail or just...clean sounding.
I have been pleasantly surprised with the QC Ultra Gen2 and it is now my new favorite headphone.
I believe it matches the Fidelio in every category (save soundstage and the need to charge, but QC Ultra does a great job in soundstage and battery life is commendable), overtakes it in others, and has the benefits of portability and NC that of course the Fidelio was never meant for.
The EQ of -3, +1, +3 makes these headphones shine for me.
I'm pleased (and surprised) that I like it more than my Fidelio. Bose has surpassed my previously favorite Bose headphone (the NC700) and matched or beaten my Fidelio. I hope to enjoy the QC Ultra for a long time.

What a headphone
What a headphone. Most comfortable feeling headphone I have ever used. I tried Sony XM6 and Bower&Wilkins Px7 S3, this by far exceeded my expectation. Tried B&W based on review of lot YTubers based on audio quality but the fit was not great, it was to much pressure on head and ears. Sound wise i didnt find too much difference, maybe audiophile can figure out the difference. I would say if you like comfort, this is the option, not even sony due there bad ciushioning

My Opinion on the Bose QC Ultra Headphones 2nd gen
I bought these headphones about 2-months ago and I am very impressed with the performance of these headphones. I am a fan of Bose products and have owned numerous headphones in the past. This is the first time in my opinion where I believe these are actually a legitimate competitor to Sony's flagship headphones the WH-1000XM6. The noise cancelation is excellent! I also love the cinema and immersion modes. The headphones are also extremely comfortable and lightweight.

QC Ultra Gen 2
Recently bought 2 pairs for myself and my husband to use for travel. We have found them to be so comfortable that we use almost daily to watch our separate shows or listen to music. The fit is perfect as well, not tight on my jaw which is something I struggle with in other brands.

Extremely comfortable. I forget I'm wearing them.
The first and only headphones I've ever had that weren't a pain to wear with glasses. The sounds is incredible, and they're so comfortable that I forget I'm wearing them sometimes (even after the music stops).

Great product
The quality of the sound is great. It turn off by itself when removing the headset from the head is good. It needs to have a button by itself to chsnge tge modes because the way itviscitccrestes confusion when using the same button to turn on or off.

MUST HAVE FOR SENSORY OVERLOAD 🥰
I am VERY prone to sensory overload, one of tjose ppl wjo can hear eletricity buzz, the sound of the crowd is louder than the person taling right in front of me, and i can VERY clearly heqr everyone's squeaky cart wheel in the grocery store. These headphones? 99% of it is GONE. When ppl talk about noise canclinf headphones THIS IS WHAT I THINK OF!! Its not just thar padded stuff that very badly muffles sound, there is SILENCE. With things inky as loud as car THAT HAVE TO BE DIRECTLY PASSinG YOU cut over the quiet. And the Best part?? THE BATTRTY LAST FOREVER!! It legit took me 3 DAYS of using these things with BOTH noise canceling and listening to music for the battery to get to 30%. AND!! TO make things even better? THE EQR MUDFA COCER YOUR WHOLE EAR!! THERE IS NO CONTACT FATIGUE!!! And lastly, if you're really into quality music and like to frown your mood in whatever music speaks to you in the moment, the music quality if phenomenal. As ling as the actual sound file hasnt been artifiacted too much, i can hear the difference between the bassz drums, treble.. dynamic sound!! THAT YOU CAN ADJUST!! THIS THING HAS AN EQUALIZER!! Overall 100/10, ESPECIALLY if you're neurodivergent like i am. They are SO worth the money if you can afford to save for them.

😘 Bose. Everything is so perfect about Bose products let alone Headphones and EarBuds. I have almost all the product line of Bose and i am in love with them all. Try to work on bigger portable party speakers though. Haven't seen Bose in that range. Overall ❤️.

Here is the breakdown of how they performed from a professional standpoint.
Pros:
- Superb Sound Fidelity: The standout feature is the audio quality. It is a noticeable step up from my previous QuietComforts, offering clarity that makes dissecting a score much easier.
- Genre Agnostic: Whether I was listening to a dense orchestral arrangement or modern pop, the balance remained consistent. They don’t favor one genre over another, which is crucial for music education.
- Premium Comfort: The design is sleek with a nice metal finish. Most importantly, they are lightweight enough for hours of continuous use without causing fatigue.
- Strong Noise Cancellation: The ANC is excellent overall, creating the quiet environment needed for focus.
Cons:
- Frustrating User Interface: I prefer tactile feedback. Relying on touch gestures for pausing, skipping, or changing ANC levels was unintuitive and often broke my concentration.
- Frequency Leakage: While the ANC is strong, it isn't perfect. As a musician with a trained ear, I noticed specific frequency ranges leaking through the silence more than I expected.
- Durability Concerns: The ear cups feel like the weak link in the hardware; I am skeptical about how long the material will last with daily heavy use.
- Redundant Features: The "Immersive" vs. "Cinema" audio settings were virtually indistinguishable to me. Additionally, if you aren't using the headphones with a smart device/app, many features are inaccessible.
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra (2nd Gen) is a high-performing instrument when it comes to raw sound and comfort. If you prioritize audio fidelity above all else, these are a winner. Great ANC
I’ve owned every major Bose noise-canceling model since the QC15, and the QuietComfort Ultra is easily the best of them. The standout is still the noise cancellation, which remains the most effective I’ve used. I reach for them every day for that reason alone.
Comfort is another area where these excel. They’re light, the earcups are soft, and they’re extremely easy to wear for long sessions. I use them daily for studying, and they help me stay focused without fatigue. The “set down to sleep / raise to wake” feature has quickly become one of my favorites; it makes the headphones feel completely frictionless in everyday use, especially when moving in and out of study blocks. The ability to stay connected to two devices at once is another small but meaningful convenience.
As for sound quality, they’re not the absolute best on the market—but they’re very good, especially for ANC headphones. The tuning is clean, balanced, and easy to enjoy, and because the noise canceling is so strong, I often reach for these over other headphones that may sound a bit better in ideal conditions. I’m genuinely excited to see how they perform on an upcoming flight.
Overall, the QuietComfort Ultra has become a daily essential for me and stays in my bag permanently.
