Perfect Choice!
I am absolutely obsessed with my Breville espresso machine! I make coffee for me and my family every morning and it’s just great. I’m having so much fun experimenting with it and learning the different ways I can use it. Very easy to learn to use!
I am your typical mediocre coffee enthusiast who was tired of spending ridiculous amounts of money on coffee orders. I decided it was better in the long run to invest in my own high quality espresso machine, and I’m glad I did! The Breville Express was very easy to assemble and learn to use. The videos in Breville’s website were helpful, along with a few YouTube videos along the way. I use it every day!

Perfect Espresso Machine
I love this espresso machine so far! I wanted latte style drinks without having to put much thought into all the details of making coffee. This machine makes me feel like I am a pro without much of a learning curve. I am even beginning to create latte art, so it feels like every morning I have a cafe in my home.

Making Espresso is a Pleasure But Requires Practice
I bought the Barista Express in January 2024 and have used it on a near-daily basis. Mainly, I need to remember to add water to the rear container. I discovered that Peets Major Dickason's Blend, an oilier bean than some, works especially well. It grinds those beans effectively. It's important to attach the plastic Dosing Funnel 54 when grinding beans, so coffee heaps in the portafilter without spilling. Then, simply use the tamper to tamp down the coffee; it takes practice to determine how pressure to apply. But don't forget to use the Razor piece to trim the coffee puck to the right level and don't forget to remove the dosing funnel before making coffee. My next step is texturing (steaming) the milk. Then, I make my coffee. This has taken practice, but it was pleasurable practice! When I'm not busy, I read the instruction manual to remind myself of how to use this machine properly; I have also watched helpful videos on using this machine. Yes, it's a commitment.

I bought this machine about 6 years ago. I've used it daily and cannot express how nice it has been to use this machine. It makes great espresso, is easy to use and has never faltered the entire time I've owned it. The machine tells you when it needs to be descaled and the process to do so is simple, and keeps the machine fresh. That's essentially the only maintenance it needs to keep producing great espresso, year after year. To anyone looking to buy a Breville, I will attest to the quality and tell you to do it. You won't be disappointed!!!

Use it daily 2x. Try different beans. Adjust every bean to my exact specifications. Lavazza beans can taste as good as Blue Bottle when ground the proper way.

I've had this machine for almost a month and am loving it. I used to buy coffee drinks away from home but not anymore! The taste is amazing even with bagged beans that aren't weeks old fresh. It does take practice to get the right grind but not too many tries. There is great info on the net to help you dial in the right shot. For an added bonus I was able to get the tool kit for free, which I love and 2 free bags of fresh roasted coffee. It is night and day when you get fresh roasted beans but like I said store beans do a good job too, for me anyways. I make iced drinks.

The best birthday gift ever

Im in love!
I have learned to do so many different kinds of coffee thanks to this machine and Tik Tok of course. I can do an iced brown sugar shaken espresso, hot and iced caramel latte, café con leche etc. I’m always excited to make coffees for family and friends when they come over and they always compliment my Breville and even have purchased one themselves.

No, the Breville® BES870 Barista Express® can extract espresso, dispense hot water, and heat and froth milk. It does not make drip coffee, however hot water can be added to the espresso to create Americanos.
