Hood works great, cleanability is a bonus
I updated our kitchen and replaced the over the range microwave with this product, the Broan Elite Alta 3 (ALT330SS). The low sone rating is when the fan is on low, and it is quieter than a whisper. On high it is still 1/2 to 1/3 the noise of lower quality hoods at full speed 300 CFM hood, and this baby is pumping out 400 CFM! The unexpected surprise was how nicely this unit cleans up. The lower surface is almost all grid, which easily removes for cleaning. Additionally, all the surrounding visible surfaces are smoothly sculpted which allows easy cleaning. All other hoods I've used have a nasty lower surface that the filters sit besides that are a pain to clean. Not this unit. The stainless steel cleans up with a simple wipe of warm soapy water (don't use too soap) and after then wiping with clean paper towel has a look like new appearance. The infra-red touch controls contribute to clean-ability as well. Just wipe over them. I’ll buy another one of these when I do the kitchen in a Condo I own. With the performance and clean-ability it is a no brainer. Cost wise shop around and you'll get it at a fair price. This isn't a bargain unit. You pay a modest premium for the stainless steel and design, but I think the value is high due to features and clean-ability. I think Broan is missing a marketing opportunity not advertising the easy cleanup design.
My only disappointment was that my unit was a little racked, that is the lower surface was 1/4 inch out of flat. It hung a little wonky in the opening, but easy enough to fix by drilling a hole and driving a screw into the face frame it was hanging from.
Overall, very satisfied with the unit and am planning on buying another for a second install.

Best range vent I've ever used.
Spent hours researching hoods for my kitchen remodel. Made the right choice with the ALT330SS. Followed all instructions and I installed (thru-the-roof) after the cabinet guys were done. Only dilemma is cleaning the squirrel cage fans, but I'll figure it out. 450cuft/min sucks the cold air from the basement! Usually runs on medium with sound levels very tolerable. Love the 3-level LED lights. Also very good looking under my grey cabinets.

Very happy with this hood
We bought this hood to replace old microwave vent combo when updating our kitchen and we are very pleased with it. Picked this hood because reviews said it is quiet and it is very quiet and the styling looks great. Very happy with the hood.

Exceeded Expectations
Purchased and installed about a month ago. We were looking to replace an over-the-range microwave that was in the way while trying to cook. This product had good reviews online and it turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. Installation was a little involved as expected because we were retrofitting to an already installed vent tube. The low setting is almost silent and the other setting are quieter than our previous experience. In the end it exhausts as expected for the volume advertised. The slim design keeps it out of the way, while the controls are still easily accessible. The bonus and very impressive feature is the lighting. Low setting was better than we have ever experienced over the stove. The the medium and high settings were surprisingly illuminating. Overall, this product was better than expected, even after rave reviews.

Simple, elegant, functional, effective
This vent works great. The touch sensors are reliable and the three light settings and three fan speeds keep the options simple. The low profile design is aesthetically nice and the angle on the button interface means it can be operated without stooping or angling your head to look for the controls (I'm 6ft 2in). We mostly use the low and medium light and fan speeds but on the few occasions that we have had to go on high for the fan it was very effective without being obnoxiously loud like some others we tested.

We purchased this Broan model due to the size depth as it would extend across all burners giving a better exhuast extraction when cooking and creating steam. I was have been very please and happy with this purchase. We had an issue in the beginning which Broan was very helpful in addressing. The Broan staffing were extremely helpful and thoughful of our needs. Thank you Broan.

Can't Fault Broan Alta
Alta is the best range hood I've ever had! Here's hoping it stands the test of time; at this point it's almost a year old and is functioning perfectly. For starters, I find the shape of it very aesthetically appealing. The controls are small, touch sensitive, infrared things that light up to indicate fan speed and light brightness. They operate very smoothly and provide much variety of control. There's also one that lights to signal that the filters need cleaning, which is great, because I'm prone to forgetting about that. The filters are impressive things and easy to clean. They are a bit difficult to remove, but I always succeed. Unit is stainless steel.

Love my Broan range hood
I have owned since spring of 2019 and it's one of my favorite appliances. I love that I can change the fan speed. If I burn something I turn on high for just a few minutes and the odor is gone. But it is louder on high because it is moving a tremendous of air through the filter. On the lowest speed I can barely hear it. Because it is so quiet I could forget and leave it on. The beauty of leaving it on it continues to remove cooking odors but because it does not vent out I am not losing heat/cool conditioned air. So it just circulates and cleans the air. On the lowest speed it does not take long for all odors to be removed. I also love that the lighting is LED and that there are 3 brightness settings. The lowest is perfect for leaving on at night just to have a small light on in the kitchen. The bright I use most though. It is bright and covers my entire cooking surface and surrounding area of prep. There is a medium light setting but seldom use it. I use it when we have guest for serving from the counter along with my under counter lighting. I love this product and would highly recommend it.

quietest range hood we could find
We did a lot of research and even ordered another hood hoping to find the quietest rangehood possible. The other one sounded like a jet engine compared to this one. This range hood is super quiet at its low blower setting and the dual fans really work well. It took a little time to install as our kitchen is oddly set up but the directions etc. were clear. We even like the LED lights which we didn't think we would use. I cannot rate this unit highly enough, we're telling all our friends who are also looking for a simple, elegant and QUIET hood for their kitchen.

Nice features
The 3 light and 3 fan settings are very useful. When you finish cooking, the fan can be set to continue blowing for 10 minutes then will automatically turn itself off. I would've given it 5 stars except the fan is rather noisy even on the lowest setting.

My hood blew apart!
I bought my hood during a kitchen renovation just before the pandemic.I researched a hood and other appliances for weeks and loved my salesman (Drew) at the local appliance store, Agren. We were so incredibly happy with all of our purchases and this hood did not disappoint initially. It had all the design and operational elements that we wanted...low profile, sleek design, super quiet and fabulous lighting. Loved some of the special features like the idea it remembers the last setting!
Two days after the kitchen was finished (yes, of course the time line was delayed) we went on a month long trip. We returned 6 days early because the US called all travelers home because the pandemic was officially declared. We quarantined for 2 weeks when we just fell in love with our new fan. Then, we had to join my mother in her home for many months. This is all to say that the fan/kitchen wasn't used for months and when we returned to our kitchen there was a weird sound that developed. At first I thought maybe there was ice rattling and then the sound went away mostly. Then one day about a month ago, right before a dinner party, a really really loud noise happened along with tremendous vibration and I immediately turned the fan off but it kept rotating for another minute. When I lowered the apron there were bits of black plastic everywhere and the vibration broke the stems holding the screens. Considering the amount of time that I used the fan (very little) during its time in our home, I am now wondering if I got a lemon. It was the store model although it was never hooked up there to run. I wrote two emails via the company contact page but haven't heard anything back yet. I am sure the unit will need to be replaced or at least the guts of it. I am so disappointed and wish I had acted more aggressively when I first heard unusual sounds because of course it is no longer under warranty (even though it was hardly used-not the company's fault that the timing was during a national crisis). I'm hoping this review gets a response because I do really love this fan and am sure this is unusual because the company has such a good reputation.

Horrible
This has been a nightmare. You cannot use this fan without the blades melting. Happened to us twice. First time making a simple pot of pasta and parts were replaced under warranty only to happen again with a simple thing. ALL THE PARTS ARE PLASTIC. And now we are out good money as Home Appliance will not replace the parts on this item. DO NOT BUY THIS. Waste of money. Not even two years old. Piece of junk.

no suction at all
I am totally disappointed with this model. I bought ALT330SS one to replace our old old range hood which describes with much more power. While after installation, I can't feel any suction and test with a soft tissue and nothing happen, even worse than our old hood. Compared to the old hood, this new model is much more expensive, totally not worthy it.

OMG what a paltry inefficient item!
Ordered this to replace a white, 12 year old single blower Broan, and OMG it barely pulls out air and even less, it cannot hold a napkin on the vent on the lowest setting! But what is interesting is that on stage 2 is multi-fold noisier than the 12 year old unit on stage 2.. It also whistles- that is the two filters depending how you touch them they whistle, and yes, in the pic, stage 2, several hundred CFM, steam goes around it! And noisy at 70 Db measured at range height...
