Broan Stays With What Works
We love the new power pack cooktop fan. It is very quiet and does stellar job of keeping food odor down in the kitchen. And having a current unit that fit perfectly into our 14 year old hood assembly was fantastic!! Broan knows the needs of its customers.
I must say the installation instructions were sketchy. And the design of the adapter piece for a circular pipe was not thought out. It had an overhang off the assembly larger than the hood opening. Some REAL manipulation was needed to complete the insertion process.

Very sleek

Great fixture
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with the appearance and easy to install range hood. We had this mounted within 30 minutes. The stainless steel finish fits in with our modern kitchen decor. The knob to adjust air flow is easy to control and the hood gives off ample light. This is a high quality fixture. I would recommend this range hood to others.

Quality, easy to install range hood
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you have an existing under cabinet range hood, this one is very easy to swap out for. The directions were very clear and after watching videos online I was able to tackle the install myself. The hood itself is very beautiful and functional. I was amazed at how much air it circulates and how quiet it was. It also has a very bright built-in light so you can see your food when cooking on the stovetop. Overall a very high quality product and I highly recommend!

Great blower
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great range hood blower insert. Easy to install and operate and fits great over our range. Provides great air flow, much better than our previous microwave exhaust over the range. Would recommend trying out for smaller cooking spaces.

Amazing range

Powerful and very sleek
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This integrates well into our cabinets and was very easy to install as a DIY project as long as you have the opening already there. Love that there are two options for filters and that the lights are LEDs so I don't feel bad about leaving them on. The hood itself is very powerful and produces a very noticeable and fast difference in smoke and steam.

Great hood exhaust fan for cooktop
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this Broan hood exhaust fan. It works great and has similar CFM's to much larger units. It does an amazing job at removing smoke and fumes while I cook. The noise level is comparable to smaller exhaust fans that move less air so it is great. The LED lights allow for the cooking surface to be brighter and doesn't cast any weird shadows. It is easy to clean and overall a great product.

Awesome Product!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While doing a little kitchen remodeling, I picked up this Broan 21" Custom Range Hood. This product is very well made and even easier to install. Just make sure your cut-out is the right size, slide it up into the opening, secure and wire it up. Everything comes with it. It has a very nice fan and is quiet. Great look and definitely serves the purpose. I highly recommend this product!!

Do I need a Carbon filter to trap the oil fumes?
I have a PM400SS installed in my new house and I would like to know if an additional carbon filter can be attached to the exhaust blower(as I used to have in my previos house with another type of kitchen hood?

Bad Switches
Like the unit but both switches were bad out of the box. Now I have to take it back out and get it replaced or repaired.

Okay Quality, Easy Install, Lights TOO Bright
We bought this unit to replace our tried and true Broan-Nutone model PM390-HS, this unit was recommended as the replacement. Overall the installation was straightforward, minus the fact you have to buy an appliance cord and strain relief for it, these used to come with the appliance, our PM390-HS came with that. Upon installation and startup, the unit makes an annoying and 'slow old wheel' sound on the lowest fan setting, we're guessing we got a lemon. The lights when you turn them on are reminiscent of a prison guard tower, be prepared to be blinded! Literally the lights are way too bright, I'm not sure which product development team thought this bright of light would be pleasant, especially when a lot of people leave this light on at night to 'gently' illuminate their kitchen. Not so with this one, it's annoyingly bright.
Back to our older unit, the PM390-HS has been wonderful, minus a new screeching sound during the cold months that we assume is a bearing and the plastic damper breaking and flying deep into the exhaust vent. We looked at just repairing it, and the motor alone was as much as a new one.
Overall we'd say the quality of this new unit is just okay, the metal filter screen is flimsy and you have to tap around the latch fitting to get it to seat correctly. Disappointed in the quality.
